Game of Thrones - Shall I start watching now?!

I've never watched GOT.

But have seen (Obvs) all the news about it and loved the scenes I have seen in passing on news sites etc.

Is it too late for me to start from the beginning now?

If everyone is disappointed in the ending am I just setting myself up for disappointment?

I'm still recovering from an accident and will be for a few months, so I have time on my hands... would be nice to have a distraction from being in pain.

I love love love Harry Potter, LOTR etc but read and watched them to death.

Any thoughts for a GOT newbie?!

Go for it. The advantage of bingeing the lot now is you won't have had a year of speculation leading to the ending being a disappointment.

I was late to the party and started binge watching it just as season 8 started.

I'm now up to date just before the finale.

I think it was a brilliant way to watch it tbh as the back story was so fresh in my mind it was easy to hang on the to complexities of the plot.

On the downside the dénégation of the quality of the scrip over the course of the latter seasons was more obvious.

FYI watching GOT while taking (prescribed for my injury - don't worry) oromorph is very trippy!

I'm already on season 2 episode 4.

Arya and Dany are absolutely badasses.

Yessssss! Start watching it from the start. I’m jealous... wish I had it all to watch afresh instead of just one more episode Sad

It really is brilliant, you won’t regret it!

Whizbang · 19/05/2019 15:36

Aha, crossed posts I see.

The girl has made a wise decision. It is known.

ThatCurlyGirl · 19/05/2019 16:24

Haha @Whizbang I'm loving it!

To add to my previous list of actors I didn't realise would pop up:

Alfie off of being Lily’s sister and off of being named in her song

The moustached sexist bastard from the office

Bloody hell this show is good isn't it?!

I think I'm lucky binge watching it, I'd definitely lose track of some plot if I had to wait a week between!

Mixing it up with some Alan Partridge now so I don't come over all unnecessary from too much Kit #nosuchthing
