to ask what do you drink with your evening meal?

Just that really. I will occasionally have wine or beer but don't want it every night, water seems a bit boring and juice too sweet to go with savoury stuff. What do you have?

When I was growing up, we used to have a pot of tea with our evening meal.

These days i don’t drink anything with a meal, except when I am having a butty and i will have tea or coffee depending on the contents of the butty. (Eg tea with veggo sausage butty, coffee with cheese butty)

Gin

And am surprised to be the first to say this. Grin

ZenNudist · 17/05/2019 22:48

Neat gin

Catbot · 17/05/2019 22:49

Wine. Always.

corythatwas · 17/05/2019 22:53

Water, sometimes milk (I'm Swedish and milk is an adult drink there).

lboogy · 17/05/2019 22:56

Water

kaytee87 · 17/05/2019 22:58

Water

If I'm out then maybe diet coke or lager

goawaywillya · 17/05/2019 22:59

Just water (bottled since the filter jug died)
I don't like the taste of booze and couldn't afford it anyway.

aatwi · 18/05/2019 01:53

Wine, or hot water with a squeeze of lemon in it.

YoThePussy · 18/05/2019 04:36

The elder trees are coming into flower so I shall be making elderflower champagne and drinking that with meals for a few weeks once it is ready.

LizziesTwin · 18/05/2019 04:45

Water usually. Wine if we’re out or if we have guests. DH drinks wine every night.

teacakes44 · 18/05/2019 10:54

Cup of tea- I think that’s quite northern 🤪

QRCode · 18/05/2019 11:27

If at home, usually nothing. If out, still water mostly.

Then peppermint tea afterwards and perhaps another cup later in the evening.

Leleophants · 18/05/2019 11:30

Water. Thank God I never got into needing sweet drinks as I'd be twice the size!

pontiouspilates · 18/05/2019 11:37

Water at home, wine if eating out.

PlinkPlink · 18/05/2019 12:11

Water. I always try to keep my water intake up.

LightDrizzle · 18/05/2019 12:57

Water
Red wine with steak, pizza, or bolognese

thefairyfellersmasterstroke · 18/05/2019 14:15

Water if we're having carbs.

Water between courses to cleanse the palate before pudding.

Tea with a fish supper, to melt the grease and wash it down so it doesn't stick to my arteries. Grin

Wine and water if dining out, unless it's Indian food when a light beer or lager is required.

EvaHarknessRose · 18/05/2019 14:21

I sometimes have a bottle of Becks Blue alcohol free lager or a glass of low alcohol pinot white wine, because I don’t want to have alcohol every night and am often driving somewhere.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 18/05/2019 14:22

Water, squash & on a Saturday I’ll sometimes have a coke.

sheshootssheimplores · 18/05/2019 14:25

Milk or tea.

cliffdiver · 18/05/2019 14:33

Water, I don't find it boring at all.

yermawyabas · 18/05/2019 14:40

Fizzy juice

AngelaJ18 · 18/05/2019 16:16

Cup of tea or a glass of squash/ Coca Cola

RedSheep73 · 18/05/2019 16:18

Water. It is boring but that's part of the point, it's not meant to distract from the food. And it's to hydrate me, not to enjoy for it's own sake.
