To think something is seriously wrong?

Posted here mainly for traffic as I never seem to get much on the childbirth board.

So the back story - I had my son just over 2 weeks ago delivered by EMCS. Prior to having the local anaesthetic in my back, I had 2 failed epidurals and fentanyl in the epidural.

Since then, I seem to have lost feeling in my right thigh. There is a area of it where I cannot feel anything at all.

I'm already planning to see my GP but AIBU to think this just isn't right and something has gone wrong?

You should definitely see your gp, but given you're only 2 weeks postpartum, it may be a case of your body needing more time to repair.

First epidural I had they discovered they hadn't actually put it into the epidural space in my back so I don't know if this could have caused something..

I had numb patches after both births (vaginal, episiotomy and forceps with one, neither epidural), mostly parts of my legs but also one patch on my back. Got the feeling back in my legs after two or three weeks, but still (32 years on) have the numb patch on my back. Mostly I don't notice it but every now and again it itches like fuck.

You're two weeks in and still feeling numb, yes, check with your GP. Not sure what they can do, though. :(

Two weeks is FAR too early to diagnose if permanent nerve damage has been done. This can take months and months, if not longer. I have had 14 major surgeries and had significant sensation issues with several of them. For a few of them, it took a couple of years for full feeling to come back. I know you're worried, but try to relax and let your body heal itself.
