I have an exam this Friday, it’s a maths one, I have no interest in maths and am rubbish at it but needs must for me to pass this section of my course, i feel physically ill at the thought of it, a week ago when I was revising I was fairly confident on around 80% of it, as the time draws closer my nerves are kicking in and every time I look at a practise paper my mind goes blank and I have the urge to vomit 🤮
Anyone any tips for nerves? I feel like I need to get on top of this now or come Friday I’m going to melt into a puddle

I cant give you any tips if you don't; understand it. My only tip is to work hard so you know more than the rest. Then you shouldn't get nervous. And if you still find it hard, others will find it more hard.

I have always got in a state before exams, sometimes been sick before them etc.
I draw strength from the fact that our 6th form head of year (Mr Pratt, I kid you not) said he didn’t worry about the ones like me. Our adrenaline was working as it should, we’d go in and show our best selves. He worried about the complacent ones who would let themselves down. Bearing that in mind has always given me strength and I’ve gone on to get a degree and professional qualification (always getting in a state along the way).
Good luck for tomorrow.

  • Don’t revise on the day or after 7ish the night before. Have a good night’s sleep and let the questions prompt a response.
  • If you have one of those friends that comes up to you the morning of the exam going “did you revise this?! OMG I’m soooo nervous, the circumference...” stay as far away from them as possible on the morning!
  • have some water and have a wee before you go in
  • also, before you go in, do a power stance and tell yourself “I CAN DO THIS!”
  • think about the question first, don’t just dive in, and take your time

You’ll be fine, just keep reminding yourself that the world will NOT end if you do badly in this exam!
