Changing a flight with Ryanair

I've booked a flight with Ryanair and need to change it. If I change it officially through Ryanair, they charge a £45 fee plus the flight difference so ends up being £75 total but only £50 if I book a brand new flight. Could Ryanair have me if I don't change it officially because then I will have two bookings under my name.

It's fine. There are people that fly Ryanair several times a week, so you having two bookings in your name won't raise any questions!

I've had two bookings for the same flight before on a budget airline as DH got my name wrong on the first one and it was cheaper to book a new flight than change my name.

I have done this before - nothing bad happened. Ryanair don't mind - they are getting paid.

It will only be a problem if the flight you forfeit is part of a return one. If you don't use the outward flight, they will probably cancel the return.

@redwoodmazza That's not true. Ryanair do not offer return flights in the traditional sense, they are a point to point airline.

Have you tried ringing them on the off chance they are helpful? I once booked the wrong flight my mistake with Ryanair, I rang them and they changed my flight with no charge no problem. I was very surprised but very grateful!

I was once helped out very kindly by Ryanair staff at an airport for something that was entirely my fault - and they "accidentally" forgot to charge me too :)
