To keep dp away from ds?

Ds is 6 days old. Dp has started this evening with an upset stomach and diahorrea. I've tried looking around Google but can find no information on whether ds needs to be kept away from him. He is breastfed but i really rely on his support for feeding, winding and cuddles etc as I am 100% sleep deprived 😬 advice please!

Anyone who tells you to keep away from your breastfed baby can be safely ignored. Glad your DP is feeling better. It's worrying and best avoided, though with lots of breastmilk healthy babies can get over these things quite quickly.

If anything like that happens when your breastfeeding, always continue feeding, although practise good hygiene obviously, baby will get your antibodies. Just watch out for any symptoms or changes in baby as D&V is quite dangerous for a bain under 6 months old

Quarantine him - separate bed & bathroom if you have one.

The antibodies in breastmilk protect against gastrointestinal issues (they are too big to pass through the gut wall into the bloodstream, won't protect against a cold, etc), so the best thing you can do is keep feeding him. Your body will produce antibodies way faster than his and pass them on to him.
