You came up trumps when I asked for tiramisu recipes. I need to make brownies for a friend and they HAVE to be good. Hit me..

This recipe is amazing - hummingbird bakery 😊

nbee84 · 14/05/2019 20:51

Have a google for Bill Granger's chocolate brownies. I try out other recipes occasionally but always go back to this one.

Done 👌🏼

Nigella one with white choc chunks

Amanduh · 14/05/2019 20:55

Second that the hummingbird ones are good, but I’ve tried them all. These are the best. EVER. www.google.co.uk/amp/s/secrettkitchen.wordpress.com/2012/02/24/the-best-chocolate-brownies-in-the-world-rich-gooey-and-bursting-with-chocolate/amp/

Unbelievably good. Don't skimp on the egg/sugar beating. Do let them go cold in the tin before slicing. I usually find it takes about 30-35 mins. You can also bake this mix in muffin cups, reducing the time a bit.

My favourite is this Laura in the Kitchen recipe, with a one main proviso....that if you are using a 9x9 inch tin you need to do 1.5 times the recipe and only cooke for 35 mins ....otherwise they are mean and cakey.

if you only do the recipe then I would only use a 7x7 tin and 30 mins

Having said that, it is a very agreeable recipe....I have made no end of variety of brownies using it. Add in After eights, oreo cookie, or creme eggs, or fancy nuts, or chocolate chips and raspberries....just stir in whatever you fancy and poke some bits on top

User12879923378 · 14/05/2019 20:56

Oh, it's the same as @amanduh's!

They really are the best.

MoaningMinniee · 14/05/2019 20:56

And if time has run out... Betty Crocker Brownie Mix. Carried me through several OMG PTA Cake Sales.

PoohBearsHole · 14/05/2019 20:57

Second the GF above, always work, always popular 😁

BagofTeeth · 14/05/2019 21:09

I use the one that User posted. Had many people ask for the recipe. I'm going to have to go buy ingredients to make them tomorrow now because this has put me in the mood for them again. Grin

Laquila · 14/05/2019 21:10

The BBC one that’s been posted above is genuinely the most delicious brownie recipe ever, and I speak as someone who doesn’t get excited about brownies.

CaveMum · 14/05/2019 21:12

Anthony Worral-Thompson’s Triple Chocolate Brownies never fail me. Whenever I make them I am ALWAYS asked for the recipe.

I don’t use the pecans in the recipe though.

BaaBaaBaaMoo · 14/05/2019 21:15

@Whoopstheregomyinsides out of interest what was the best tiramisu recipe?

Really like the bbc recipe too. Always throw in an extra egg too.

KooMoo · 14/05/2019 21:16

Not meaning to derail thread but does anyone have a great gf brownie recipe.

I’ve recently tried a gf blondie (white chocolate) and it was like a dense brick rather than crispy outside and gooey middle.

Outofinspiration · 14/05/2019 21:17

I'm another one voting for the BBC recipe. It seemed a bit complex, but I don't know if it was just an unnecessarily detailed recipe, but OH MY GOD the most amazing brownies ever!

MakeLemonade · 14/05/2019 21:22

Came on to recommend the BBC Good Food one but see lots have already. They really are the best ever. It’s even in the title!

queenofkale · 14/05/2019 21:23

Nigellas brownie recipe from how to be a domestic goddess. It's on her website - very rich so you have to like rich gooey brownies are there any other kind

LarryGreysonsDoor · 14/05/2019 21:24

I second the BBC one. www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1223/bestever-brownies

I’ve made it loads and it is amazing.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/05/2019 21:26

You need one that whisks the egg and sugar , this gives you the sugary crust.

You need to leave them 24 hours to mature

You need to cook them unlike the Nigella recipe which is half raw and you'd have to suck them through a straw . Envy < not envy

VioletCharlotte · 14/05/2019 21:45

This is my favourite brownie recipe

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2360667/chocolate-orange-brownies%3famp

BubblegumFactory · 14/05/2019 22:01

I made that BBC recipe at the weekend having seen it recommended on here - I won't need to ever search again, they were so good! Making more at the end of the week to satisfy family demand...

HBStowe · 14/05/2019 22:03

Top tip - add craisins! The sharp / sweet combo is amazing.
