What to dress my newborn in?

DS is 2 weeks old. It's 21 degrees where I live right now and I'm taking him out to his grandmothers.

What shall I dress him on? I'm worried about him overheating

Sleepsuit should be fine at 21 degrees. I haven’t been bothering with a vest under for mine. Rompers are good once it gets hotter.

AlaskanOilBaron · 14/05/2019 15:19

I don't think it's warm enough to worry about him overheating in a sleepsuit, as user above says.

OwlBeThere · 14/05/2019 15:19

the basic rule for a baby is one more layer than you're wearing. so if you're wearing a tshirt, the baby needs a vest and a short sleeve top. for warmish weather mine tended to be in a babygro and a vest but no blanket.

Treaclepie19 · 14/05/2019 15:20

We used to do vest and a thin blanket on top if needed.
Our DS has always run hot though.

GruciusMalfoy · 14/05/2019 15:26

I'd go for a vest and cotton sleepsuit and gauge it from there. Neither of mine were babies who got too hot, I'm sure there are others who wouldn't need the vest.

For a two week old definitely add a vest. They need to be kept warm.

Thanks all, i dressed him in a sleepsuit with a vest underneath and a thin blanket on top Smile
