@Capara we love Turkey too (the quieter areas in particular) and we're fairly well travelled. It's beautiful - a more exotic Greece and the food is incredible.

Nos for me based on experience - North Africa, the Dominican Republic, the Canary Islands other than north Tenerife, Malta, most of Florida, Phuket

Without experience- South Africa unless on a proper guided tour, the gulf states. I'd happily see virtually anywhere new as long as it was safe.

Parker231 · 13/05/2019 21:57

ANy of the big resorts in the Med with huge hotels and signs advertising British breakfasts and English food.

everythingisginandroses · 13/05/2019 22:01

Dubai.

userxx · 13/05/2019 22:02

@Capara go to Turkey without a man and it's bloody hard work. I'd never go back as I just didn't feel like I could relax.

origamiunicorn · 13/05/2019 22:04

Dubai, corrupt money that I don't want to support, don't want to get arrested for touching my partner's hand or something.

BigFatGoalie · 13/05/2019 22:04

Is anyone going to tell needsleep that Egypt is in Africa?! Grin
Have no desire to go to Dubai, Scarborough, Romania.

South Africa is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. The culture is amazing, the food is first class, the people are incredibly friendly. The wine estates are idyllic, the mountains are majestic, and the beaches are great! If you have the money, it is most definitely the place to go. Just be warned, it’s very expensive! Shock

AfterSchoolWorry · 13/05/2019 22:04

Dubai

Cherrysoup · 13/05/2019 22:05

Exactly what @cosytoaster said, plus Israel and any 3rd world country.

SwimmingKaren · 13/05/2019 22:09

Dubai, Egypt, Turkey, parts of India.

Boysey45 · 13/05/2019 22:09

Malta is dreadfull, like a Butlins for the very elderly.
Apart from there, I would say Egypt, Tunisia, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Dubai, Hungary,.Anywhere like the Congo etc, Blackpool etc.

Nearlythere1 · 13/05/2019 22:09

@Capara I would dearly love to see Turkey but it is literally a count down to a Tunisia-style terrorist attack on tourists there. The country is a mess and consists of a single semi-westernised city (istanbul) and another just getting started (ankara, where they had the serious terrorist attack in the central train station a few years ago). The rest is a middle east backwater that's well on its way to religious fundamentalism and frankly, you couldn't pay me to go there, and anybody taking their kids to the big resorts are insane.

needsleepzzz · 13/05/2019 22:09

Sorry, i blame Wikipedia:
The Middle East is a transcontinental region centered on Western Asia, Turkey (both Asian and European), and Egypt (which is mostly in North Africa). Saudi Arabia is geographically the largest Middle Eastern nation while Bahrain is the smallest.
