I have no desire to go to Australia at all. Over priced, not much to appeal to me sightseeing wise and full of huge spiders . Yuck.
Oh, and nowhere that involves a caravan or tent lol that’s not a holiday to me, it’s torture.

I’ll stick with hitting different states in America each year. They’ve been my best holidays ever out of everywhere I’ve ever been, and each state is so different.

bakereld · 14/05/2019 19:37

India
Morocco (never again!!)
Dubai
Egypt
Tunisia

@Basil there are alot like me but they probably have faced alot more discrimination throughout their lifetimes and go into auto defence mode, understandably. Also I agree, alot of people aren't racist just not necessarily been exposed to it first hand - with alot of far right and anti-islam propaganda it's not hard to see why.
Oh so you're probably used to a few of the customs of the culture thenGrin - DH is from Kashmir, PK side. All the best to you too!

No to any country with poor human rights, that treated me differently for being a woman, that has a government I don’t trust or would most importantly put my gay son at risk or think his sexuality was wrong.

So that would rule out China, Russia, Dubai and I suspect most Muslim countries( I would research to be sure).

F1zzB1zz · 14/05/2019 20:07

Those that are dangerous(war, terrorism etc).

Cutesbabasmummy · 14/05/2019 20:23

North Korea!

Capara · 14/05/2019 20:23

What makes me laugh on this thread is the difference in scale.

So a list goes
Asia (entire continent of 4 billion people written off!)
Africa
USA
Rhyl
Barry

:)

MallySally · 14/05/2019 20:27

I hail from Barrybados and I can't actually believe people go there on holiday 😁 Still, it's better than Trecco Bay.

BlueJava · 14/05/2019 20:30

Egypt - went once, omg the wandering hands!
Gulf States - they seem to randomly crack down on normal "fun"!
Africa - either war, fierce animals, famine, disease, something!
Colombia/Brazil- drugs/crime

Love Asia, especially China, so want to go back now you made me think of holidays!!

pallisers · 14/05/2019 20:31

Disney or theme parks of any kind. We go to Florida a lot (gulf coast) and have never gone to disney or the parks.
Dubai - seems really boring to me.
Las Vegas. hate shopping malls and gambling so why would I bother.

I flew into the old airport in Hong Kong - most amazing landing of my life. I'd swear we could see people eating their breakfast in their apartments as we came into land.

luckylavender · 14/05/2019 20:36

Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan.

cushioncovers · 14/05/2019 20:44

Gulf states
India, the heat would kill me
Russia.
Anywhere in Africa
Blackpool
Liverpool
Butlins/Haven type places.

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 14/05/2019 21:00

I've been to Russia and it was fantastic.
We went hiking and camping in the Urals. It's completly unspoilt.

lljkk · 14/05/2019 21:06

Wherever the main activity involves overwhelmingly
just sitting around / 'partying'
&
B) eating &/or drinking loads.

Not My Thing.
If fun non-harmful doing things are on offer, I'd go almost anywhere, though.

Mrsjayy · 14/05/2019 21:07

I really want to go to ST petersburg I saw a programme about Russia and it looks beautiful.

lljkk · 14/05/2019 21:09

What is there to do in St. Petersburg? I've got a reason to go there (& Talinn) this summer, but not sure if it offers anything to do besides look at beautiful buildings & be reminded of shocking WWII history.

floraloctopus · 14/05/2019 21:19

I'm keen to go to St Petersburg and Tallinn as well so watching with interest. We might go next year.

Mrsjayy · 14/05/2019 21:20

It just looked picturesque

eyesbiggerthanstomach · 14/05/2019 21:28

@Hefzi I'm with you. I think many of the countries listed I have been to or would like to go but it's more interesting and educational rather than a relaxing holiday as such.

Writing off countries (or especially continents!) isn't fair either. Think of England, it varies so much from place to place

frumpety · 14/05/2019 21:33

I think a lot depends on who you are travelling with and why , so a long weekend with friends, I don't want to spend too much time travelling and like a bit of culture and nice food and somewhere a bit luxurious to stay in.

Family holidays, not bothered about luxury so much as long as its clean and comfortable and I can entertain the children without too much effort or trawling about the place. I get all this in Cornwall even if the weather is inclement. < disclaimer - during all my childhood holidays, the highlight was getting back to the tent or caravan and getting warm and dry again , so my bar is set quite low >

ArabellaPilkington · 14/05/2019 21:36

Love St Petersburg

Faberge museum fabulous, Hermitage, St Catherine's Palace and the Peterhof Gardens are stunning. Culture so very different, not like Europe at all.

Our tour guide studied Japanese at uni in Vladivostok- incredible to look at it geographically vs St Petersburg, that it's the same country! So vast.

I loved Tallinn - definitely worth a trip 👍

Wimbledonwomble · 14/05/2019 22:05

@Bedforaweek

*@Wimbledonwomble Why not Beirut out of curiosity... *

Probably should've said "any war torn country".Beirut came to mind due to an episode of Only Fools & Horses when Del, Rodney & Cassandra went on a crap holiday to Spain. Rodney said that Cassandra would "rather be self catering in Beirut!" I always remember that line when the subject of holidays from hell comes up!

Wimbledonwomble · 14/05/2019 22:08

Need to google Jaywick....where is that

Just did - good grief! Looks even worse than Leysdown. Get me to the Eldorado Amusement Arcade!

Nanamilly · 14/05/2019 22:08

I visit family in Beirut. It’s lovely.
