Mine cost £95 which I don't think was that bad for about 100 items

ButterMyBiscuit · 14/05/2019 08:12

£42 - including fresh flowers and a crate of diet coke. Admittedly we are trying to get through some stuff we have in the freezer/store cupboards

LettuceP · 14/05/2019 08:14

I usually spend £60-£70 on a Monday then do a £10-£20 top up on a Friday. That's for everything including cleaning/toiletries/household items. 2 adults, 1 preschooler and a baby.

Skade · 14/05/2019 08:17

Weekly I spend between £110-£130 for four adults (3 of those big men), plus £20-£25 on raw food for the 3 dogs. Looking at this thread I don't think I'm too extravagant!

Accountant222 · 14/05/2019 08:17

Approx £130.00 then DH spent about £15 on fruit, two of us.

MrsChuckBass · 14/05/2019 08:18

Anything between 100-200 per week, two adults two children and packed lunches for me
I refuse to scrimp on food and would rather make cut backs elsewhere if we had to

Enwi · 14/05/2019 08:18

£80 for 2 adults, 1 child and we’re childminders too so that includes breakfast lunch and dinner, 4 days for 6 children.
It’s usually between £60-£80 and includes our cleaning products and most toiletries.

francienolan · 14/05/2019 08:18

£27 this week for 2 adults at Morrison's but sometimes it is as much as £40. We end up spending about £10-15 more at Tesco during the week topping up fresh veg and milk etc.

We got into the habit of keeping the shopping low when I was out of work and now that I am working we are saving a lot.

We eat out once per week usually at well, as we like to have a date night.

wildhairdontcare · 14/05/2019 08:18

£147 in Sainsbury's
£9.80 in the butchers
£18.47 in the fishmongers
£11 in the bakers

Blush

3 adults and 2 children.
Trying to diet so full of fresh produce.

CremeEggThief · 14/05/2019 08:19

£48.80 which is expensive for the 2 of us. It's normally between £40-45, for everything, including toiletries, cleaning and laundry products and alcohol.

Nikhedonia · 14/05/2019 08:20

£89 for just DD and I. Fluctuates though. I don't always need to do a weekly shop and sometimes it can be as low as £45 for the two of us. Sometimes over £110.

DreamsOfDownUnder · 14/05/2019 08:20

£25

karigan · 14/05/2019 08:42

£28.50 for two adults and one 4 year old. I'm on a debt management plan so have gone into extreme frugal meal planning mode. The above amount is broken down into £26 at Aldi and then £2.50 for a weekly waste food cooperative where I get at least a bag for life of end of life foods from local supermarkets. I've got meals planned monday-saturday this week and will go shopping again for next week on Sunday.

EleanorReally · 14/05/2019 08:46

£77.
two parents,
two adult children

but yesterday i did a weekly shop at Aldi for £41 but I dont think that compares to the online weekly shop above

WishIwas19again · 14/05/2019 08:52

Around £100-120pw, two pre school, two adults.

Includes all cleaning/washing/nappies/wipes

ncdforthis · 14/05/2019 12:36

£72 for one. It included lots of washing and cleaning products I stocked up on in bulk as they were on offer. I

mindutopia · 14/05/2019 12:41

I shop twice a week, but altogether it's usually about £150-180 for us (family of 4), but that includes alcohol and every meal all week (except school dinners) as dh and I pack lunches and snacks for work, plus 3 times a week I have to pack dinner for work as I get home too late and have to eat on the train. It would be cheaper if I was just eating family meals, but not always practical given I have to eat it on the go.

Thismummyruns · 14/05/2019 12:47

Last weeks came to £70 with Tesco & didn't have a lot to show for it.

2 adults, 1 child.

Normally shop in Aldi and get way more for my money but heavily pregnant so currently getting the shopping delivered begrudgingly.

We will do a few top ups consisting of milk and probably more strawberries throughout the week.

Gth1234 · 14/05/2019 13:04

We don't do a weekly shop. Seriously, we tried to spend £60 in Sainsbury's the other day. We had a £5 cash off coupon, and we got 10p a litre off petrol for spending £60, so it was worth it, but it was a real struggle. I had to buy a case of beer to get to £60.

JingsMahBucket · 14/05/2019 14:12

OH and I average about €75 a week for two adults. We’re moving back to the UK soon so it will be interesting to see how that changes. That said, we’re happily a block away from a Waitrose (YAY!), an M & S food, and have a Cook plus several cheese shops on either side of us. I can’t wait!!

JingsMahBucket · 14/05/2019 14:18

Oh and DP is vegetarian while I eat meat. That said, my meat purchases are balanced out by his copious amounts of yoghurt consumption and avocados. We get along fine. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🙂

KittyMcKitty · 14/05/2019 14:33

I’m in awe of those of you feeding a family of 4 for £40pw! How do you do it? I’ve just bought 2 tins of coconut milk and that was £4. A big thing of Persil liquid is still £7 when on offer.

We are 2 adults, 2 teens (who eat adult quantities), dog and cat and spend I would imagine between £150 and £200 pw which I know is a lot but we don’t have alcohol at home (unless having people for supper), cook everything from scratch (no jars etc) and don’t eat meat every day.

Mammylamb · 14/05/2019 14:36

£84 for 2 adults and one child. But it did include concealer for me and pyjamas for DS

tardyheart · 14/05/2019 14:36

I did an Aldi Shop this morning it cost £39, that was for Meat, Veg, salad stuff, fruit, bread, pasta, rice, wraps, cheese, curry ingredients & Spag Bol ingredients, a few cleaning things. That will last us until Saturday at least. We already have Milk, some veg & tins of beans/tuna left from last week. Half of both the Spag bol & chicken will go into the freezer for next week too.

I will have to do a top up of Milk, and I couldn't get fruit tea or baking paper today. I reckon I'ill spend another £10 and we may eat out tomorrow.

That's for 2 Adults, lunches and dinners.

HelloDoris · 14/05/2019 14:42

£80 for a about a week and a halfs shopping for 4 people.

That doesn't include milk as we get that delivered, but does include pack lunches for 3 (DD2 gets free school lunches), treats for all, no alcohol as we don't drink, only 2 bottles of bleach, a pack of san towels and some bin bags.

I don't buy wash liquid/dish tabs/cleaning products weekly, don't seem to need to (I obviously don't clean regularly enough). We also have a huge larder that is fully stocked with numerous dry goods that we dip into in poorer weeks and top up in flush weeks.

Meat wise we do buy, but we don't have meat every day, we also use the local farm and buy half a lamb for the freezer as it is so much cheaper then buying from the supermarket.

My major spends when I shop tend to be in Aldi/Lidl in the center aisles of joy, who knew I needed a circular saw and a needlecraft set...

We eat out once/get takeaway every 2 weeks or so, and cook from scratch for about 95% of our meals.

Food prices have increased, would love to go back to my £60 a week shops.

Beaubird83 · 14/05/2019 14:53

£28 on frozen food at Iceland
£18 on fresh fruit, veg and meat from Aldi

That’s weekly, but also do a monthly shop in Morrisons for bulk buy nappies, wipes, dog food, general toiletries and household essentials like loo roll, washing liquid etc. That is normally about £100-£150.

We are two adults, 2 children (7 and 1) and then OHs 10 yo lives with us on weekends and comes for dinner in the week a couple of times. Oh and a big 5 stone fat doggy 😊
It’s took a while to get a shopping routine that works financially for us, as previously we were spending £80 a week in one supermarket and then the monthly shop on top. Pays to shops around!
