Mine are 10 and 14 now and they just drink milk mostly, water or occasionally apple juice. they won;t drink squash or anything fizzy. don't like it. I just wondered what others drink and whether this was normal. If we are out in a cafe they tend to ask for a glass of milk, or sometimes a hot chocolate.

21, 18, 17.
At least 1pint of milk a day each Hmm (there's never enough)
Squash, beer, water, tea, coffee.
Hate fizzy stuff unless it's alcoholic.

WellTidy · 13/05/2019 18:16

Ds is 11yo. He drinks any squash, any juice without bits, cordial, milk, milkshake (as long as it is made with milk and not ice cream) and very occasionally a Fanta or ginger beer.

In a cafe, he will have either hot or cold milk, apple juice or very occasionally a hot chocolate.

@FrogsAreMean I've seen that poster say that to someone else in the last few days. Must be part time with the MN Thread Police Grin

JonesTheDow · 13/05/2019 18:18

2 x 8yo's

They drink water. We live in Spain and squash isn't a thing here, never seen it in the supermarkets, wouldn't buy it anyway. Sometimes they drink oat milk (we don't have cow milk in the house), but generally water.

FaffyFaffington · 13/05/2019 18:18

DS (14) - only likes water.

DD (10) - squash, occasionally milk, fizzy stuff as a treat if we eat out.

cuppycakey · 13/05/2019 18:21

Vodka

isittheholidaysyet · 13/05/2019 18:25

14 year old: milk, squash milkshake (nesquik type).
Water if very thirsty. Hot choc at night.
Fizzy when available, cream soda, fanta and ginger beer are his favourites.

12 year old: milkshake, milk, water.
Will drink Apple and blackcurrant squash when the specific brand and strength he likes.
(Will only drink water from a metal water bottle, not plastic. And won't touch squash from a water type botyle)
His favourite is cola but drinks all fizzy drinks.

In cafes they go for fizzy, hot choc or milkshake.

stucknoue · 13/05/2019 18:28

Mine have always drunk tea at home, water if it's hot. Out they have tea or fizzy drinks depending on time and setting. They are older than yours now so their palate extends to alcohol but they have drunk tea from toddlerhood

stucknoue · 13/05/2019 18:30

Drinks of choice are cider (dd2) and vodka (dd1)

booellesmum · 13/05/2019 18:31

17 and 14 - water and tea mostly.
The 17 year old occasionally has orange juice or apple juice, and the odd glass of wine with dinner.

reluctantbrit · 13/05/2019 18:36

DD is nearly 12 and drinks milk, chocolate milk, fresh juice and water at home. Juice is mainly with food though.

Hot chocolate in winter. She hates tea and latte.

Fizzy drinks are a treat for going out or special occasion.

BrokenWing · 13/05/2019 18:44

Ds(15) Mostly water to drink through the day and with meals, 400ml glass of milk after training with protien powder, glass of fresh fruit juice in morning with breakfast (breakfast porridge has probably 4-500ml milk in/on it).

Probably on average 1-2 drinks of fizz at weekend.

I'm 50 and still drink a glass of cold milk most days!! We go through loads of milk every week.

ShannonRockallMalin · 13/05/2019 18:49

DS1 (15) drinks mostly water but likes a hot chocolate before bed. DS2 (13) drinks a lot of milk but also loves fruit juice and squash.

DH is addicted to Pepsi Max (2l bottle a day) so I've had to be really careful that DCs don't go the same way.

Skyejuly · 13/05/2019 18:51

13 and 15... milk, squash, pure fruit juice...milk shake

UrsulaPandress · 13/05/2019 18:53

AlaskanOilBaron · 13/05/2019 18:59

My 13 year old drinks water and milk, is phobic about soda. Not sure why.

My 16 year old drinks Tenzing (terrible stuff) water and milk and Corona.

puppy23 · 13/05/2019 19:02

19 - Water and a maybe daily diet coke

MintyCedric · 13/05/2019 19:21

DD 14.8 ...mostly water or herbal tea during the day. OJ in the morning if we have it and Pepsi max or sugar free lemonade with dinner.

Koppaberg or a small glass of Strongbow or weak Pimms on special occasions.

IAmTheChosenOne · 13/05/2019 19:23

@FrogsAreMean And who made you the fucking internet police ?

puma84 · 13/05/2019 19:24

Water,tea or squash

PotsOfJoy · 13/05/2019 19:27

Archers.

Purpleartichoke · 13/05/2019 19:42

Almost exclusively water. Occasionally chocolate milk. She hates carbonation so we have no battles in sugary drinks. She has about 2 ounces of juice a day for taking some medication. She doesn’t particularly like juice, but it’s a necessity for the meds.
Sometimes we do warm lemonade with honey because her allergist wants her drinking warm dairy free drinks during flare ups.

Oh and she loves hot chocolate.

IHaveBrilloHair · 13/05/2019 19:48

Dd17 has an espresso most mornings, she got a Tassimo for Christmas.
She also likes fruit tea and we have various tea bags.
She has the occasional fizzy juice bit isn't a huge fan, though she loved it when she was younger.
She's allowed to drink alcohol but isn't that fussed with it.
She also drinks gallons of water.

IHaveBrilloHair · 13/05/2019 19:50

Oh, and oat milk which is costing me a fortune!
