Too not throw the ball back

So next door has a couple of kids. I often find a ball in my back garden multiple times, so I've thrown the ball back over the fence without them asking. Without fail, in a couple of hours the ball is back in the garden again.

It keeps landing on my new Apple tree bad has knocked some of the blossom off so less apples.

Aibu to keep the ball until they ask for it?

If it's not in your way, just leave it in the garden until they ask for it back.

Although, if my local area is anything to go by that could be a while. As I walk around the parks and fields with my dog I see loads of perfectly healthy looking footballs discarded all over the place.

Well maybe I'll become the graveyard for lost balls...

If I was the parent of the children who had done it, I would be quite grateful for the opportunity to get them to go round to you and ask, because they are bound to learn to be more careful that way!
