Phone not charging?

What should I be checking? I've moved it to a different plug socket, though this plug socket should be working (extension lead with 4 sockets) as my laptop is plugged in?

Have you tried a different charger?

Break in the cable. Try another one if you can or fiddle with it until it works.

Dust in the charging port - as DH discovered to his embarrassment when taking his quite new phone back to the shop to complain

Ok, no break in cable, but blew into connector and charging port and I think it's charging now!

I'd be bloody lost without phone. It's on its last legs as it's 2 years old, but I'm not sure I could be incommunicado overnight lol!

It's usually the charger with me, although I once had fluff stuck in the charging hole, managing to dislodge it with some really fine pointy tweezers x

Paperclip or iphone d tool to poke the fluff/ dust out of the charging hole
