To be a bit ick over pet names?

Seeing someone for just under a month, a date a week so very early days. He’s started using the occasional pet name when we message (hey gorgeous etc) but occasionally calls me miss/missis! Is this weird considering we are really not official yet? Only heard people say it about other halves

Is it because you don't like the actual pet name or just because you've not been together a while? Either way, talk to him and tell him you don't like it.

At this early stage in your relationship you need to be honest about what you do and don't like because otherwise if this is THE ONE you're going to be "the Mrs" forever.

It’s not so much I don’t like it, it’s more that I’m freaking out he’s calling me it so early on.... but is it not that weird?

Is he referring to you as 'the mrs', or as 'miss' - they are different.
I know a lot of people (men and women) who call women 'miss' or 'mrs' as a term of endearment, but calling someone you are in a relationship with 'the Mrs' is more of a sign of commitment.

Either way I hate it!

Mandysings · 09/05/2019 13:47

No the, so just “miss” or “Mrs”, yeah I’m not that keen - prefer gorgeous!!!!

I have female friends who use 'missus' as in 'oi! missus! what time are we XYZ-ing' . It's regional.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 09/05/2019 13:54

Yeah, I have friends who call me missus. Doesn't bother me.

When I like someone, I like pet names.
When I don’t like someone, I don’t like pet names.

I suspect you’re not too sure of him generally!

I dated someone who would say “didn’t it though?” quite often.
As in “rained hard this morning” - “didn’t it though?”

At first, I found it quite endearing. Once I’d decided it wasn’t for me, it was irritating as fuck.

Yeah I’m still figuring it out! So on that note anyone had a dp who has grown on them? But I do like some of the names :)
