Yes! This really really super annoying woman at work!! She dominates all meetings, and everything is all about her! It's driving me insane! She has an answer for everything and thinks she knows everything! She thinks we r all thick and only she knows what to do in every situation! And she even says that she knows she is always right and is sooooo smart about everything because apparently she has a 'superior' intellect (grrrrrrr) - I think she had her iq tested as a kid and it's high (you really wouldn't have thought it though! And she has NO social skills!)

Anyway, more a rant than anything else!

Yes but you need to be more subtle than just "shut up".

FissionChips · 07/05/2019 00:45

YANBU! She sounds annoying! Tell her to shut up!

I think she's in my art class. FFS! Such a knowitall. I feeeeeel your pain OP, although yours is worse because you have to work with the bitch.

When I worked with a knobhead, it got so bad I applied for another job. I got the job and handed in my notice. My boss was so gutted, he gave me a payrise to persuade me to stay, on the promise that he would make KH redundant. Bye bye KH, hello happy harmonious workplace. Time to start looking around OP Wink

Oooh people like this are so annoying.

Depends how much you want to either engage or ruin them.

You can either simply never, ever react or engage to anything unless addressed directly to you and then be amenable grey rock spouting facts or if you’re feeling ballsy/it’s extreme/happy to face consequences jus take her on and challenge her. Ask a few (very) long division questions to prove her mettle. If maths is her thing, switch to linguistics. Or art history.

If all answers are correct, revert to grey rock.

(Can also totally forego the non-grey rock circular activity) xx

Aren't a lot of people child geniuses and it averages out the older they get normally?
I have to deal with a know it all sometimes (he tries to mansplain everything, including my job and areas I'm quite expert on and he only knows vaguely about because he has a child who will one day do these things hopefully). I just nod and go "mhm anyway..." and either carry on with what I was saying or change the subject. It took a while but he now shuts up if I do it.
If she points out her higher intellect maybe ask why she's doing the same job as people who are supposedly not as smart as her? Or ask some question to point out even if she is smarter she isn't actually any better than any of you because you're all doing the same job and she's actually hindering anyone progressing including herself by not letting others get their points across

You could always bombard her with exclamation marks until she is buried by them.
