About BV?

Embarrassing but has anyone got rid of mild Bacterial Vaginosis on their own without anti biotics? I had it 2 months ago really bad and got anti biotics which cleared it up fine. I now have similar symptoms but not as bad just a fishy smell and excessive discharge. How can I regulate my gross vagina?! Could repeated BV be a sign of something else in the background? Thanks

I get BV quite often, over the counter gel from the chemist does the trick for me, you leave it in overnight and usually by two treatments mine's gone. If you're worried though go back to the GP and get it checked out again.

I get that and thrush fairly often in winter. Lots of wearing tights and leggings I'm afraid. You can buy OTC stuff I think from the same brand that make Canestan, not sure what it's called non branded though but it will probably be cheaper.

Also if you're using scented shower gels/soaps to wash yourself with down there stop, the best thing to use is plain water or aqueous cream my GP told me, too much scented chemical stuff really upsets your natural flora and puts the PH of your vag to neutral, allowing bacteria to grow when it should be slightly acidic.

A few years ago I was having major discomfort with itchiness, and a fishy smell, too much discharge etc. I'm really not sure if I had BV or thrush (definitely wasn't trich) because none of the meds had much effect. I even got my partner treated for thrush in case it was that!
However, I now do a few things that mean I never have this problem so might be worth trying for you?
I gentle dry my bits with the hairdryer after showering. Then apply Yes WB (water based) lube. Which is organic and pH balanced etc. Then I wear loose cotton underwear which has been washed in fancy fragrance free sensitive soap. I've been ok for 2 years since doing this. I apply the lube more often during AF as that seemed to be a trigger for causing a pH imbalance.
Hope this helps, it's miserable at times Cake

Just use over the counter gel. No big deal.
