Do you get your DH/DW an anniversary card every year and do they get you one?

We've only been married a year but are planning on it. We've said unless it's a special one we won't be doing presents or celebrating particularly maybe just a take away or something so a card seems nice. Plus I like finding funny cards

GnomeDePlume · 06/05/2019 21:16

Yes and yes. Always humerous not sentimental. It has been known for us to cross out 'happy birthday' and write 'happy anniversary' if the joke was good.

Dont make a big thing out of anniversaries, a nice meal, nice wine. Normally no presents.

Been married 27 years.

NowWeAreSuckingDiesel · 06/05/2019 21:18

Yes, a card each and a bunch of flowers. Maybe a meal out.

StickyBlisteredAnus · 06/05/2019 21:19

I have think DH will forget / not bother. Been married 3 years, always done cards. This year I’m thinking he’ll forget or just not bother. I’ll buy one as always and pretend I don’t care

Usually, but not always. 17 yrs. Not this year as we'd been away for a few days and had family staying. No biggie.

MrsDrudge · 06/05/2019 21:26

38 years married, don’t usually bother with cards or all this silver/golden/pearl wedding anniversary nonsense.

GnomeDePlume · 06/05/2019 21:26

We always remind each other when our anniversary is. It's easy in the busy day to day to forget so a few days beforehand one of us will ask the other 'what shall we do?' or 'when do you want to celebrate?'

Justkeeprollingalong · 06/05/2019 21:39

Don't bother with cards or presents but always cook a nice meal, have a good bottle of wine and sit at the properly set table and talk to each other! ( 38 years.).

Yes

BarbedBloom · 11/05/2019 15:12

Yes we do and are making a big collage in a frame out of them

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 11/05/2019 15:27

No. We don’t give each other cards for anything and haven’t done in over 30 years. Presents, flowers, chocolates etc yes but not cards. They end up in the recycling bin within a couple of weeks!

SherlockSays · 11/05/2019 15:28

Yes we do - will be 6 years this August. We generally do something like a meal or hotel stay too.

Sweetbabycheezits · 11/05/2019 15:41

We don't, but neither of us are bothered about cards. We are also almost always away visiting family in our anniversary, so we really don't even celebrate. Been married 13 years.
