To all how much weight you gained during pregnancy?

It's not really unreasonable, more nosey.

I'm 29 +4 and have only gained half a stone on my pre-pregnancy weight. Approx 1 stone in total as I lost half a stone in the first trimester with morning sickness.

I'm starting to feel unnerved with this weight gain as even though my midwife said everything is on track, quite a few people have commented on how small I still am for how far gone I am.

So just to calm my crazy hormones a bit, can I asked what you gained in your first pregnancy?

4st total. Went from 9 and a half and borderline underweight for my height to 13 and a half stone. I was so unwell during the pregnancy that I could barely walk so that contributed but I was literally all bump. I lost over 1st after birth. Still 1st to lose and my baby is 8 months.

Thatsnotmyotter · 06/05/2019 19:30

About 10kg in total (stone and a half). I lost a few to start with due to sickness but quickly gained them back. I was literally enormous by the end but was all bump. I didn’t really ‘pop’ until 28 weeks and then suddenly looked basically term 😂

Thatsnotmyotter · 06/05/2019 19:31

He was 9lbs and I lost everything I’d gained within a couple of weeks.

Babynut1 · 06/05/2019 19:31

17lbs on my first
12lbs on my second

I didn’t have any sickness at all. I deliberately watched what I ate and ate sensibly as I didn’t want to put on too much weight.

MaryShelley1818 · 06/05/2019 19:35

I gained 7lbs but was already overweight and also had GD so had to eat sensibly.

Montsti · 06/05/2019 19:40

I put on between 3-4 stone in each of my 4 pregnancies which was a huge amount as my non-pregnant weight is 8-8.5 stone!

I managed to lose it within 6 months each time but I had a lot of water retention, ate like a pig during pregnancy and breastfed all 4 which helped me a lot...

Azadewow · 06/05/2019 19:41

I lost 33 pounds, then baby was 9.3 pounds... 2 weeks after birth I was 53 pounds lighter than the first weight measurement they did...

I did spend the entire 9 months tho bring sick at least once a day,

I have since gained some of it back due to my newfound love of homemade Fudge lok

Baloonphobia · 06/05/2019 19:43

I am not looking forward to trying to lose the weight after this one.

StandardPoodle · 06/05/2019 19:47

21 lbs with each - the DSs were 7lb 12oz and 7lb.

BadmintonBadass · 06/05/2019 19:48

3 stone, probably 7lbs of that was in the 2wks of mat leave I had before DD was born as I literally sat on the sofa watching Netflix and eating Magnums Blush

EverythingNow · 06/05/2019 19:55

4.5st with my first. Gave me a stretchmarked apron that goes from navel down. She was 8lb11.

Second and third, started heavier and gained a stone. Both times lighter (but still overweight) after giving birth as good sized babies. Especially after #3 who weighed 9lb10.

I'm now 27wks with #4, started off my heaviest yet, but have managed to only gain 1lb so far. I'm really hoping to keep to about a stone total gain with this one. Eating normally just not for two.

Whycantistaymotivated · 06/05/2019 19:56

16lbs. Could barely stomach anything during pregnancy. Was 20lbs lighter than pre-pregnancy weight 3 days after DD

QueenOfTheEighthKingdom · 06/05/2019 20:02

6 stone over 4 pregnancies spanning 13 years. I never put weight on between pregnancies just stayed the same and added more with the next one Blush. I was a literal waif until I was 6 months pregnant with my 1st at age 25. Had symptoms of hypothyroidism after 1st pregnancy but wasn't officially diagnosed until DC1 was 20 (which is apparently not uncommon)!

HoHoHolyCow · 06/05/2019 20:21

Around a stone both times.

KateTTC123 · 06/05/2019 20:22

I'm 38 weeks and haven't weighed myself. I have no intention of doing so either as I suffered from eating disorders for years. My first baby was born at 29 weeks so I didn't get to the end part where you gain a lot more but again I didn't weigh myself. I eat pretty healthily and when hungry so that's enough for me to feel comfortable. I'm fit and really enjoy exercise when not pregnant so I'm not too worried about not loosing it. It's a time where you can't do anything about the weight gain really so why stress about it; what will be will be.

HoHoHolyCow · 06/05/2019 20:24

Meant to add - both babies around 9lb.

WorraLiberty · 06/05/2019 20:28

3 babies. I weighed myself a couple of days after each birth and I'd put on around 3 to 4lbs, which each one.

AmIRightOrAMeringue · 06/05/2019 20:32

15 kilos (2.5 stone?), I was just starving starving hungry, I found it so difficult not to eat and needed carbs or I felt sick

SimplyPut · 06/05/2019 20:35

15lbs with 1st.
7lbs with 2nd (but I weighed more than 1st!😳).
Lost 11lbs with the 3rd through constant vomiting 🤢.

Gained 2st on maternity leave 😳😳😳!

mummyof2boys30 · 06/05/2019 20:35

5st first pregnancy cause all I did was eat. 2.5st with second. Youngest is 6 and I've been more or less pre pregnancy weight from he was a year

Isitmybathtimeyet · 06/05/2019 20:36

Lost weight with all. No sickness, but I think my hormones regulated so my usual diet meant I lost weight. Put it all back on every time with mat leave cake.

Aimily · 06/05/2019 20:37

Totally off topic but I love those dungarees @Thatsnotmyotter where are they from?

I've just compared these two pictures 1st is from 20 weeks and 2nd is from Saturday so 29 +2. And the bump is considerably larger, I think I'm just paranoid. Thank you everyone 😁

So they uploaded the wrong way round... First it's Saturday, second 20 weeks 😳

magpie24 · 06/05/2019 20:43

3st. DD is now 5m and I've lost 3.5st, so I'm slimmer than before I was pregnant.

Thatsnotmyotter · 06/05/2019 20:45

Thanks @Aimily! They’re Jojo Maman Bebe but I got them as a hand me down from a friend. They were a godsend! I wore them from about 20 weeks until 41 weeks!
