Next door (other side of DD's bedroom) is an HMO.
This morning, and not for the first time, my DD came rushing to tell me that a couple next door were having a screaming row and that she could hear things being smashed.
So my question is - do I go round? call the police? wait till I see her outside and ask if she's ok?
The man was definitely the louder and more aggressive one, and anytime I heard her voice, he'd shout back much louder and more aggressively.
If you were the neighbour - what would you want me to do?
I'm hesitating because I called the police on another neighbour about two years ago when I could hear the wife screaming in pain. The H gave a load of PA abuse when the police turned up.

999 right away

Aquamarine1029 · 06/05/2019 09:36

Of course call the police and don't even think of going round.

MustardScreams · 06/05/2019 09:37

Police now.

ICloud54 · 06/05/2019 09:37

Call the police! Her life could be in danger

Fairylea · 06/05/2019 09:39

Ring 999.

To be honest if they’re that loud anyone walking past could have rung. Just do it.

bellabasset · 06/05/2019 09:41

Definitely police, apart from the couple other people live there who could get hurt.

We have neighbours with 2 Dcs who are now split. When they get together they do d&d so police are called every time.

ASauvignonADay · 06/05/2019 09:44

Definitely call the police

Merryoldgoat · 06/05/2019 09:47

Police right away.

NoSauce · 06/05/2019 09:48

What does HMO mean? I agree with calling the police.

MRex · 06/05/2019 09:49

999 now and you don't need to tell the occupants that you rang.

MRex · 06/05/2019 09:50

HMO = House of Multiple Occupancy, I.e. not just one family living there.

InTheHeatofLisbon · 06/05/2019 09:51

HMO I think is House of Multiple Occupancy (like student housing or bedsit flats)

I'd go with the police. Your DD shouldn't have to be terrified out of her bed by a riot next door, and someone could be hurt.

DaisiesAreOurSilver · 06/05/2019 09:52

999 every single time it happens.

IvanaPee · 06/05/2019 09:52

Ring the police.

NoSauce · 06/05/2019 09:54

Thanks for explaining what HMO means.

LonelyGir1 · 06/05/2019 09:58

What does PA mean?

SnuggyBuggy · 06/05/2019 09:59

Police, don't get involved

Lalliella · 06/05/2019 10:01

Police now.

PA = passive aggressive I think

supersop60 · 06/05/2019 10:01

Passive Aggressive. Instead of challenging me directly, the guy shouted loudly to the PC about all the 'issues' I have.

NoSauce · 06/05/2019 10:01

PA is passive aggressive.

StrongTea · 06/05/2019 10:02

Def police, your daughter shouldn’t be scared in her home.

supersop60 · 06/05/2019 10:03

Update - neighbours on the other side called the Police.

What does PA mean?

usually passive-agressive but not sure in this context.....

Wasabiaddiction · 06/05/2019 10:07

I am very happily married.

We sometimes have very loud arguments.

I would not appreciate a nosey neighbour calling the police (though I would be mortified that our argument had been overheard).

LonelyGir1 · 06/05/2019 10:07

Thanks all. Sorry I was being a bit slow.

Police; however, say that it needs to be anonymous because of what happened before and you're scared of what will happen.
