Mine came back within 2 weeks last month

waltersdog · 05/05/2019 21:49

Renewal by the way, not brand new one

middleeasternpromise · 05/05/2019 21:49

10 days it was super efficient got a text at each step of the process

Almostfifty · 05/05/2019 21:54

Mine was back within a week using the online service.

MaHeidsGouping · 05/05/2019 21:57

I did 3 passports last month, 2 were renewals, 1 was name change and renewal. All 3 took just over 2 weeks but there was the easter weekend during that time.

dementedpixie · 05/05/2019 21:58

Did you not do it online? It's about £10 cheaper

Belle231 · 05/05/2019 21:58

Applied for renewal online and posted required documents the following day which was a Saturday. Took 2.5 weeks for me to receive my new one and that was with the Easter bank holiday in between

Proseccoagain · 05/05/2019 22:01

On !ine and got it back within 10 days.

randomchap · 05/05/2019 22:01

Mine took a couple of weeks, was delighted to get one with the EU still on it

yummychocolate · 05/05/2019 22:02

Mine took 1 week.

Theimpossiblegirl · 05/05/2019 22:07

That should be plenty of time. You will get regular updates by text or email.

Littleteacup1 · 05/05/2019 22:08

Thanks so much all so re assuring did mine online lost my passport then found it but had already declared it lost so had to get new one. This happened back in the beginning of March but I completely failed with forgetting how close my holiday was.

I applied online last Sunday, for a renewal. The system kept rejecting my photo, but I was so fed up I sent it anyway, with a note commenting that it looked fine to me! Posted old passport Monday, I received it back yesterday and the new one has now been sent via courier. I think that's pretty good, and I'm very pleased they accepted my photo in the end!

Sparklesocks · 05/05/2019 22:09

Mine took about 10 days back in March

MereDintofPandiculation · 05/05/2019 22:41

DS got his back in about a week, using Post Office check and send. It came back two days before the old one was returned.

Gth1234 · 06/05/2019 00:17

we renewed on line. with digital photos stored on a photo-me booth. Got the passports back in about 2 weeks, full tracking. Really good service

Seren85 · 06/05/2019 00:23

Check and send at the PO was one week.

dementedpixie · 06/05/2019 07:34

Why pay for check and send when you can do the application online with uploaded photos at a much cheaper price?

dementedpixie · 06/05/2019 07:37

It costs nearly £20 more to do it on a paper application using check and send!

PlainVanilla · 06/05/2019 07:47

You do not "order" a passport, you either apply for one or renew one. Passports are not a commodity and your application can be refused.

dementedpixie · 06/05/2019 07:49

What was the point of that post? Who cares about the word used?

AJPTaylor · 06/05/2019 07:57

Dds took less than 2 weeks, hers arrived 2nd April. Had to print it out and send it/ get signatures because of her age. You should be fine

Littleteacup1 · 06/05/2019 08:06

When I used the online service I still had to print of one form to get signed due to mine being a missing passport
