Chinese prawn crackers

Justanothernamechange2 · 05/05/2019 20:43

Posting here for traffic..

Had a chinese takeaway for dinner..

Ate in front of the TV..

Took plates away after being stuffed to bursting..

Saw that we'd left the prawn crackers in the kitchen! Gutted 😂

How long would you keep them for? Unopened tied bag.

Until they go soft! But that’s usually pretty quickly even in a tied bag. Eat then for breakfast tomorrow - best breakfast ever.

StickyBlisteredAnus · 05/05/2019 20:44

1 day, they go soft after that (bitter experience)

Takethebuscuitandthesink · 05/05/2019 20:45

Only till the day after

IHaveBrilloHair · 05/05/2019 20:45

Yeah, they go soft really quickly, but they are great with scrambled egg for breakfast.

RSAcre · 05/05/2019 20:46

They'll be fine for at least a couple of days. I've done this & they last fine (they are basically all preservatives & fat).

Have a bag of them in the pantry maybe 4 days old? - just took one out to give to dog. Dog appreciative. Cracker still snappy. Can go & eat one myself & report back?

AnotherRubberDuck · 05/05/2019 20:47

Breakfast. Especially if you have any leftover sauce.
Actually, I'd probably just end up eating them in an hour or two, once the main had gone down a bit.
Mmmm, I want Chinese takeaway now!

But yes, they go soggy pretty quickly. Eat them within a day or two.

StickyBlisteredAnus · 05/05/2019 20:47

Don’t be taken in by the snap dragons though obviously

ErickBroch · 05/05/2019 20:49

We had ours today, day after, so nice!

Pinkprincess1978 · 05/05/2019 20:49

I would bring them up to snack on later. It wouldn't take long for me to have a bit of room 😀

windysowindy · 05/05/2019 20:50

Cheers OP, now I am dying for some

Littlecaf · 05/05/2019 20:51

What are prawn crackers made of?

I have no idea.

misses point of thread

AndromedaPerseus · 05/05/2019 20:52

Put them in the oven on a baking tray under low heat for 10-20 minutes and they crisp up

RSAcre · 05/05/2019 20:53

Reporting back from the coalface:

4-day old crackers are still ok. Causing requirement for swift G&T - cheers OP!

BlueJava · 05/05/2019 20:55

I'd eat them the next day before they go soft. They are made from Tapioca, flour, prawns and water.

Thanks for all the replies!

Tomorrow it is!! Cant wait haha

Is it just me that loves soft prawn crackers? Blush I'm happy to take any leftovers OP 😂

SmallPinkBear · 05/05/2019 22:52

I put mine in an airtight tin but tbh they never last that long as I just eat them Grin

DontCallMeShitley · 05/05/2019 23:12

The best place for them is in the bin, they are horrible, sweet polystryene textured crap. Or maybe that is just from our takeaway because they never used to be so revolting.

StripyHorse · 05/05/2019 23:18

Agree with pp to put them in the oven to crisp them up. Delicious!

lotusbell · 05/05/2019 23:20

Love soft prawn crackers. Also, soggy poppadums too.
