To be shocked that people behave this way?

My children have been going to the same swimming school for 5 years, it's run by a lovely woman who hires out a nearby private pool for lessons. There's a small car park that fits 10 cars (12 at a squeeze) so each class has no more than 5 children in, to account for enough spaces for both the current class and the next class turning up.

On the swim school's Facebook page lately there's been a few statuses about inconsiderate parking and asking people to bring just one car, and asking if people can squeeze in tight. There was quite a stern one yesterday saying that if people continued to park and behave inconsiderately their children would be removed from the class. Being a nosey fucker concerned citizen I asked the swim teacher about it. Apparently people have been bringing grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends etc to watch their diddums swimming - to every lesson. Meaning sometimes there's four cars for one child! The pool is off a busy 60mph main road and there's literally nowhere else to park. One family brought a picnic last week and cracked open sausage rolls and Capri Suns by the poolside Shock she also said other people park across three spaces sometimes, and it's not just one person it's several repeat offenders. She said it's got to the point where she's considering booting children out.

Now I used to work in the local A&E and it wasn't uncommon for 8 or 9 family members to schlep along for a relatives broken finger. Extremely disruptive But I figured that people just love the drama that A&E brings. But a swimming lesson for the whole family? WTF? How boring! AIBU to be shocked people behave this way?

That's crazy but I'm not surprised. Did you see the post on here recently about the woman who was planning to drop her daughter off for the first day of school with both sets of grandparents and a great Aunt along for the ride 😂

I think it’s trashy & inconsiderate behaviour but I can’t say that I’m surprised.

Never underestimate the general public’s ability to take the piss!

If this continues, she’ll have to tell the parents that insist on bring every living relative to find a new swimming school!
