So I seem to have lost some clothes and wonder if anyone can suggest where they might have gone.

The clothes in question are navy school trousers, school socks and a large pink dressing gown.

I have looked 'everywhere', including the shed, garage and my DM's house!

Any suggestions gratefully received!!!!

Could they be in your car? A rucksack, left in a locker?
Has a friend used them? Could it be in your DC's bedroom. Put anything in the attic recently?

comedycentral · 02/05/2019 21:10

When I say in DC bedroom. I mean unusual places like down the side of the bed

hidinginthenightgarden · 02/05/2019 21:11

Down the back of the bed, settee, TV unit, drawers, radiators.
Bottom of the washing pile/ironing pile/airing cupboard.
Back of (inside) wardrobes, drawers, under beds.
Garden and next doors in case it blew off the line.
School bags/cars/overnight bags/swim bags.

Inrestlessdreamsiwalkalone · 02/05/2019 21:17

Are you sure you had them in the first place?

Been on holiday recently?

School? Dressing gown used as a costume?

When did you have them last?

lorisparkle · 02/05/2019 21:19

Thanks for your suggestions - tomorrow is my day off so I will check each place carefully. The dressing gown is so bloody bright pink I can't believe I can't see it. The trousers on the other hand could easily be 'in the shadows'!

Washed and ended up inside a duvet cover?

lorisparkle · 02/05/2019 21:23

We had all items at the beginning of the Easter holiday but did go away over Easter. I initially thought they were in the washing but all the washing is done and still no clothes! Ds now only has 2 pairs of trousers which is causing me a bit of a challenge! He has got form for losing things but trousers are not as easy to lose as coats and jumpers!

Could they have been stolen from the washing line? This happened to me once.

Sally2791 · 02/05/2019 21:28

I can't even begin to worry about this now, it happens all the effing time. Clothes appear, then disappear. No point looking, they come back or not as they choose.

EggysMom · 02/05/2019 21:29

When you find them, can you see if our garden rake is there, too? We've misplaced it, cannot see it anywhere, how have we lost a rake?

skyblu · 02/05/2019 21:30

Caught up inside a duvet cover?? That’s always a favourite place for items to hide...

Torridon19 · 02/05/2019 21:33

Has your husband joined any "adult" clubs recently ?...

PissOffPeppa · 02/05/2019 21:33

In a suitcase/ overnight bag?

andnowallthis · 02/05/2019 21:34

Dressing gown - check you're not wearing it at the moment. That's where I usually find mine.

EatsFartsAndLeaves · 02/05/2019 21:35

When were they last seen?

Who lives in/has visited the house? Any animals? Anyone not fully compus mentis?

Do any kids go to any other houses, e.g. stay at their dad's every other weekend?

Do you take your dressing gown out of the house, e.g. to a spa or swimming?

Ever use a laundrette?

Does the school uniform wearer change out of uniform as soon as they get home? Do they ever have PE last lesson and come home in PE kit instead of uniform trousers?

How do you do laundry, all in together? Lights and darks? Uniform all on a Friday? Who does it? Is it always festooned over every large object in the house to dry, or do you tumble dry? (No judgement mine is a "festoon" house, I once lost some clothes I forgot I'd draped over a chair in the attic Grin)

Sweetpea55 · 02/05/2019 21:43

I once lost some underwear and only found it months later when we went into the loft for the Christmas Dec's.
My bras were tucked on with the tinsel

andnowallthis · 02/05/2019 21:51

My bras were tucked on with the tinsel
Sorry but laughing out loud here, it sounds like you had a great Christmas season that year Grin

64sNewName · 02/05/2019 21:54

Could the dressing gown have been used in making a den for a small child? Draped over top of chairs/shoved inside to sit on?

JenMumma · 02/05/2019 22:44

You'd better not be the lady who lost the ironing board 🤨

Mamalicious16 · 02/05/2019 22:48

Just- what happened to the ironing board lady,?

Mamalicious16 · 02/05/2019 22:49

Jen - link.please! Ob missed that one,!

lorisparkle · 02/05/2019 23:16

Definitely haven't lost an ironing board! Initially I hoped the clothes would magically turn up but now I have been actively looking for them and still can't find them it is a tad frustrating and mysterious!

It's frustrating as hell 😂😂 "enjoy" if you can 🙂 xx

lorisparkle · 03/05/2019 14:58

Hooray! So the moral of the story is not to believe your ds when they say they have searched their bed! So I ventured up into the top bunk (my least favourite place!) and searched under the pillows and soft toys and there was my dressing gown! The school trousers and socks will appear I am sure!

Now the next mystery is why does is always rain at school pick up time!
