To think bananas are making me look pregnant!

Eating more fruit. Thought maybe all the wine doesn't actually count as grapes so I've been eating a banana for breakfast every day as it's easy and fills me up for a couple of hours... I shit you not two weeks later I look at least four months pregnant. They've proper bloated me out. I can't win!

I've no kitchen facilities at the minute so options are very limited. I already eat an apple in the afternoon. Any ideas?

How do you know it is the bananas?

Persistent bloatedness like that needs a trip to the GP.

How do you know it's the bananas and not the wine?

BornInGlasgow · 02/05/2019 19:55

It's only been in the last two weeks since I've been eating one per day

Bananas are high in carbs and sugar so not ideal every day.
A varied diet is always best, berries, apples, melon etc with proper Greek yoghurt and maybe some seeds would be a healthier option.

Just stop eating bananas and you'll find out if it's them or not. No need to rush to the GP, all they will say is stop eating bananas and come back if it persists after that.

Anything can make you bloated if conditions are right - I bloat from - few non traditionally bloaty foods because I'm "a bit allergic" (my GP's words!) his advice? Don't eat those foods....

Bananas make me bloated for a few hours every time I eat them - still eat them though but just not before any important events.

Two pieces of fruit a day is hardly excessive!!

Lay off the bananas, maybe you have a specific intolerance or they just don't suit you, try a balanced breakfast with protein and carbs etc. Maybe as pp suggested yoghurt and fruit ?
It's far more likely to be the wine Grin

bananas bloat me and if theyre not ripe enough bung me up ! I love a banana sandwich. Take the bananas out for a week. See what happens?

BornInGlasgow · 03/05/2019 15:39

No banana today and not half as bloated 😊 I'll give melon a go next week x

They're disgusting little turds in yellow jackets anyway. Ditch the bananas, enjoy the wine! Wink
