Tell me a story, I feel down and need cheering up.
I once woke my DP up talking on the phone to McDonald's, I had my hand to my ear like a phone. I remember nothing.
Tell me your sleepwalking stories

I haven't sleep walked in years, but whenever i did, i'd say and do exactly the same thing.

It was when i was living with my parents and every time i did it, i'd say to my dad 'Dad, we're going to be late; we've overslept'.

And Dad would then say 'go back to bed, darling, it's still very early'.

And off i'd go back to bed. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It was obviously just an anxiety dream and I frequently still have lots of them (not just about lateness), but i've not sleep walked in about 20 years.

We were having building work done on our house which meant DH and I had to sleep in the lounge. We have a double sofa bed but its too small really for two and its uncomfortable. I opted for a mattress on the floor DH had the bed. This was the set up for a month or so. One night I woke up suddenly and saw a mouse on the floor next to me. I leapt of the mattress onto DH screaming. After a few minutes I looked around the pitch dark room and realised no way would I have been able to see a mouse and that I'd probably been dreaming! That was my last night on the floor though DH had the mattress after that!

I was about 14/15, at a sleepover and tried auctioning my hot water bottle in my sleep.

nauseous5000 · 02/05/2019 14:00

I sleep walk regularly, mainly when I've had a drink. I seem to get scared of the dark as when I wake up all the nights in the house are on and I've quite often brought some light sources back to bed with me- the lamp from the living room, unlit candles etc.

I remember when I was newly pregnant that I'd once gone to bed really early as I was exhausted, but sat up reading til quite late. ExP had fallen asleep on sofa. Around midnight he came in and demanded to know where I'd sent his friends who had apparently been visiting earlier (we'd been home alone all night) , he got into a right tizzy that they'd left because I'd made them go and how dare I where were they. I tried to reason with him but he got more uptight, so I told him they'd gone into the wardrobe and ended up in Narnia. He looked at me blankly, then said "that's alright then" and stripped off his bottom half and got into bed naked from waist down but in a massive jumper and started snoring. I should have seen the signs!

SinjunRivers · 02/05/2019 14:04

Haven't sleep walked but I did once sit up in bed and start scanning shopping (after 8 hour shift on the till at ASDA which was my Saturday job).
I also once woke in agony after headbutting someone in a dream to find I had got up on my knees in bed and hit the bridge of my nose on the edge of the bedside table and broken it.

SinjunRivers · 02/05/2019 14:05

My nose was broken not the bedside table

jay55 · 02/05/2019 14:05

I had a very vivid dream about a school coach trip to Switzerland. The whole trip was on the coach, we were never allowed off.

HeartStrings · 02/05/2019 23:15

I have a few more. My aunt once told me that her brother slept walked and pulled the carpet up on the landing.
My DSD came in our room the night that DPs DG passed away and she came in and said "I'm just seeing if you're ok because you're unresponsive" (she was at the hospital when DGG passed away so understandably it was playing on her mind)
I've also woken up and nearly had a heart attack because my DS who was two at the time was just standing by my side of the bed watching me. I don't know how long he was there for lol

I was dreaming I was eating Chinese food from our favourite take away. Woke up and was moving my arm toward my mouth in a feeding fashion. Found it hilarious!

AuldJosey · 02/05/2019 23:23

Worst I've done is answer the door. It happens me all the time that I hear the doorbell ring or knocking on the door, wake up, fall out of bed, get to the front door and ye......... nobody there.

CylindraceousNicholas · 02/05/2019 23:25

Not me, but my brother - twice

He started getting ready for school and when mum tried to wake him up he got quite angry and huffy with her about making him late!

Another time he weed in a bin bag in his sleep.

Ezzie29 · 02/05/2019 23:28

@yumscrumfatbum i regularly have that dream! Usually a spider for me. First time it happened was about ten years ago and for most of the next day I thought it was real (id gone and slept downstairs) before finally realising it couldn’t have been as no spider here is that big! It happens about three times a year, usually a spider tho occasionally a rat or mouse. I’m up and have the light on by the time I realise it’s just a dream! I’m used to it now though so get back to sleep pretty quickly.

CaptainCabinets · 02/05/2019 23:29

I woke just as my fist collided with DP’s face Blush

Luckily he found it funny!

AuldJosey · 02/05/2019 23:29

The naughty door knocker is my grandmother. She was quite a woman for naughtiness, so I just know she just loves getting me out of bed. Only started when she had passed and I lived in her house. She appears to have followed me lol! She does manage to wake me up, doesn't scare me at all, but Nanna, I'm bloody knackered! Let me sleep!

She wouldn't agree with how I live - depression - so I suppose she's trying to get me up out of bed at a normal hour.

Never feels scary, even when I lived alone in her house.

RaininSummer · 02/05/2019 23:30

I did this once as a child and as far as I know, never again. I was a Brownie and we were going to do our hostess badge, all very Stepord wife like. Apparently I walked downstairs into the kitchen and mum and dad watched me go to the fridge and get out eggs, milk and butter ready for the obligatory fairy cakes. I think they just steered me back to bed but I can't believe it made me that anxious

CaptainCabinets · 02/05/2019 23:31

I’ve also woken up soaking wet having dumped an entire pint of water in the bed after dreaming I was washing my car Confused

probably subconscious guilt over having a dirty car

WitBeyondMeasure · 02/05/2019 23:35

I have tons! I sleep walk and/or talk when I'm highly stressed.

When I was in my late teens I once got myself dressed and walked to work at the care home where I worked at 2am in the morning. I wasn't aware until I arrived and they asked what I was doing there.

I've done all of the laundry during my sleep.

I've taken my newborn downstairs. Fed them, and then gone up to my husband to ask where the baby is.

I've searched high and low, turning a room upside down to find a necklace that was in a special place. Conscious me knows where that place is.

I've also sleep talked denouncing certain aspects of my career loudly and emotionally. My husband wakes me up if I get too invested in that one!

Chippydippy · 02/05/2019 23:36

One morning I woke up to a perfectly stacked pile of books next to my bed (they were in the bookcase previously) and my trainers placed neatly on top of the pile with the laces missing. Wasn't until I made the bed later on that I found the laces in perfect straight lines under my pillow, obviously did it in my sleep!

SoupySlide · 02/05/2019 23:36

My SIL sleepwalks a lot. Once she woke up to find her back door unlocked and ajar. Went out to find her back gate open too - that was always kept locked too, with keys. She thinks she must have sleepwalked into the back lane.

Only thing is, she'd slept in nothing but a thong that night! None of the neighbours ever said anything so either she wasn't seen or they all just laughed behind her back! Grin

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 02/05/2019 23:56

My neighbour fell down the stairs sleepwalking and fractured her neck Shock

AGnu · 03/05/2019 00:12

As a child I once woke up completely naked despite having gone to bed wearing PJs the night before. I eventually tracked them down on the floor next to my brother's bed! I can only assume I was dreaming about getting changed & went to get into his bed instead... Thankfully he was unaware - he'd have probably punched me if he'd been awake!

I have a friend who does really scary things like try to climb out of the window to prove she can fly. Thankfully her DH is twice her size & pretty strong! I always worry about her if he has to go away for work.

JellyTots2009 · 03/05/2019 00:13

I heard my partner talking in his sleep,
'A pound a go, love! Pound a go!'

Must have been working for a fairground haha

Goldenhedgehogs · 03/05/2019 00:14

I once took an empty mug back to bed with me and held it tightly under my chin. I then growled at my boyfriend who tried to take it off me. He was scared to sleep with me that night but I was having such a lovely dream of being in a garden party. The next morning he was most affronted and I couldn't understand why....but the growling really upset him.

Ezzie29 · 04/05/2019 10:55

I had my spider dream again last night! Maybe because of this thread. I had a sleep recorder app running and was very odd listening back this morning, hearing my panic and DP’s sleepy confusion
