Why do they wake up? And what do they do when they're up?

Lazypuppy · 30/04/2019 11:50

Is she upset when she wakes up? If not leave her to it and she'll go back to sleep at some point.

Thesearmsofmine · 30/04/2019 11:54

Is this a new thing or has she always been a night waker?

Happyclappy20 · 30/04/2019 11:55

She's been a night wakes for a year. She cries a lot and asks for milk.

Mine's a few months older. If she wakes we get into bed with her or she comes into ours. Would this help do you think? We've always done this since she went into her own room. Now she sleeps through about 1 in 3 nights and wakes once on other nights. Will be 4 in the summer.

This might be helpful. I've read the standard one and the newborn one in the same series and found them really excellent.

Is it breastfeeding she wants or a bottle or cup?

Happyspud · 30/04/2019 12:02

Talk to her. Tell her what your expectations are, reinforce it in the day. Put in place punishments and rewards. They are very capable of understanding rules and although it can take time if you are consistent they actually do want to take on board what you say.

We started using a gro clock when DS was three, it helped a lot. If he didn't come to wake me until the sun came up he got a small treat.

ILiveInSalemsLot · 30/04/2019 12:16

Is she hungry?
What time does she eat?

What do you do when she wakes?

SimonJT · 30/04/2019 13:44

Mine is a very good sleeper (although he is almost four), he usually goes down well ans goes to sleep very quickly. He knows if he wakes up and it’s light enough to see wher he is going he can come and get in bed with me, if it’s dark the rule is he has to shout me and I will decide if he has to stay in his bed or come into mine.
