Child vomiting through nose

Really just posted here for traffic but quite concerned.
My 4 year old ds has had diarrhea for 6 days and had some sickness now and then, but last night he had horrendous projectile vomiting but only out his nose? His mouth was opened to throw up but it all came spraying out his little nostrils, which then put him into a panic as alot got stuck.
I'm seeing a pattern that it is rarely through his mouth when he is sick.
Is this normal?
I couldn't find anything on Google to say so.
I have a phone appointment with the doctor today as no appointments left

If he's unwell, perhaps his throat is constructed due to tonsils/glands being swollen? Has he complained of a sore throat?
Poor little guy.

My son had never thrown up, thought he could stop it by keeping his mouth closed.... erm, nope, sorry love!

constricted sorry!

Thanks for replying, no he hasn't complained of a sore throat but we have suspected he has enlarged tonsils so maybe that could be causing it.

This is new to me! Must be very uncomfortable, poor wee one. I’d ask your doctor.
