LuckyAmy1986 · 29/04/2019 19:14

Hi there posting here fir traffic so yes IABU for that. I fractured my little toe last night, confirmed with X-ray at hospital today, sent home taped up all fine. Howveee my leg and foot feels a like it’s in an ice bucket and is noticeably colder to the touch than the other one. Is this normal? I have never broken anything before! Thanks

LuckyAmy1986 · 29/04/2019 19:42

I’d probably call nhs direct or whatever it’s called now. I’m sure it’ll be fine but it’s very important that your foot doesn’t lose its circulation.

StrongerThanIThought76 · 29/04/2019 19:52

Silly question op, but have you got some combination of socks and shoes/slippers on? My feet and legs can go numb with cold if I don't wear socks/slippers in all but the warmest weather

Louisianna16 · 29/04/2019 20:00

Definitely call NHS direct it sounds as if you may have a blood circulation problem I the injured foot, so it's important you get it checked out fairly fast.

NormanTheForeman · 29/04/2019 20:09

No it should be same temperature. Get it checked out ASAP, you don't want your circulation compromised.

Worst case scenario you could end up losing toe/foot. Much better to get it checked and there be no problem than leave it and it gets much worse.

LuckyAmy1986 · 29/04/2019 21:25

Called 111 and said just to see GP in next few working days. Leg feels like it’s in an ice bucket and I can’t help but worry even after calling them!

Emergency appointment tomorrow with your GP?

Walk-in clinic? OOH?

Are you alone? If you feel any worse go back to A&E.

It doesn't sound right.

AuldJosey · 29/04/2019 21:29

Can you maybe elevate the leg and foot slightly?

LuckyAmy1986 · 29/04/2019 21:44

DH is here, I’m going to go to GP tomorrow. It’s not a funny colour or anything like that which makes me feel better! I’ve had it elevated since I’ve been home apart from hobbling about a bit!

Is it a normal pink colour, can you feel a pulse on the top of your foot in the middle and ar the side of your foot.

TheInebriati · 29/04/2019 21:49

Can you feel the pulse in your ankle? Try it in your warm leg first.

What did the GP say OP?

LuckyAmy1986 · 30/04/2019 18:39

Sorry for not responding sooner I’ve been sleeping lots! Did go to gp
This morning though she didn’t seem concerned. Said it might be a damaged nerve but did lots of checks on my leg and all was fine. Unfortunately wasn’t ice cold this morning when I was there but has been this afternoon. She said it will need looking into further if it continues. And said if it goes off colour etc etc then go to a&e

Oh and I
Did call nhs 111 last night who also didn’t seem concerned just said to visit GP which I have done now. Still makes me a bit uneasy! Hopefully it will go away in a few days
