Has just become a way for people to compete with each other over who has the best life? Or at least try make it seem that way?

For some people yes, however in my experience it's used to get at people and send nasty surruptitious comments to them using phrases such as "certain people"....or horrid emotional poems that could also be read in a nasty way.

As always with Facebook posts it depends on your friends
Mine isn’t, but my friends on Facebook are my actual friends, who don’t compete with me and we are all happy if any of us has some luck/a lovely day/whatever.
If yours is full of people not appreciating you, get some different friends!

Hasn't it been this way since it was invented?

If there are nob heads on your timeline it's because you're Facebook friends with non heads. Only have people you like and it's fine.

The thing is, I feel my friends have changed! Some just constantly post their every movement but make it look amazing.

My aunty is terrible for it and I'm so close to her. She most post about 5 times a day about all different things but each one makes her either look like she's better than anyone else or she needs sympathy.

A few close friends have gone into network marketing and post at least 2 shameless selfies a day and write their own quotes...'be the best version of you you can be' 🤮

Then theirs the friends the post pics of the child's bday/Xmas presents....stealth boasts are unreal also. It just goes on and on but the majority are my actually friends!

There was a post of a newborn baby girl earlier who is absolutely adorable. But the post read 'no baby can even come close to your cuteness, you win hands down' Like NO!!! Yes she's beautiful but so is every other baby.

I just need to come off I think.
