To think manager is unprofessional? I’m close to tears

I work in a department that has 2 managers. Mine wasn’t in today.

I’ve been signed off and doing a phased return to work. I struggled to even get out of bed due to depression and anxiety (not saying that for sympathy because we all go through shit in life.)

I’m doing reduced hours as per my doctors note and this manager starts questioning me in front of my team asking why I’m still doing these low hours.

He’d also put a lot of work on hold to me - work which I agreed with my manager I wasn’t doing.

I sent him a polite email explaining this (he wasn’t at his desk so I couldn’t speak face to face) and he never responded to it and for the rest of my shift he was being grumpy with me.

I left feeling really stressed and like I’d been made out to be a liar.

Sorry to hear that you've been treated this way at work. Yes he is being quite unprofessional but is obviously unaware of your situation. When is your other manager back in the office - can you speak to them & ask them to put him in the picture?
You've done the right thing by emailing - perhaps forward this on to your other manager & explain that you were upset and didn't get an response from him.
