Did you go to an interview with the Mets in the 1980s?

Posting here for traffic. Just sat watching Line of Duty with a friend. She says she wanted to be a police officer in the 1980s and during the interview/assessment centre was told to strip to her underwear, then walk to another room in a bathrobe. Once in the other room she then had to take off the robe and bend over and touch her toes. There were three interviewers watching. All the candidates complied! She's not joking. Did anyone else experience this?

I call bullshit.

Oh christ if I had to do this it would be an instant fail 😂 in all seriousness though, what the bloody hell?? Sounds positively perverted and totally taking advantage of people!!

funnylittlefloozie · 28/04/2019 21:53

Absolute bullshit.

Yeah, I find it hard to believe too. She's not liar though. I'm hoping someone will post that interviewed around that time.

I went for an RAF cadet position in my first year at uni. The quite elderly guy got me to undress to my underwear as well as doing other physical/aptitude tests. Then at the end told me I was too short anyway. There was no chaperone, female or otherwise.

Sounds more like she was being interviewed as a prisoner in jail, rather than for a police role. Confused
