Taking baby to family planning clinic?

In need of opinions on if this is appropriate or not?

I need to go to our local family planning drop in centre to renew my pill prescription within the next 10 days.

The only day I could go without my LO who is 4 months is my husbands only day off in that time, there is no-one else nearby to help, especially as I have no idea how long it will take.

My husband is a chef and so we don't get to see eachother much, therefore I really don't want to have to go on his day off.

I am wondering if it is okay to go myself with my LO? I don't want to be insensitive to others by taking him and was just wondering what others had done/would do in this situation?

You have to go on his day off, don’t be daft.

I saw babies there. Just don’t make a big deal of it (overtly playing with or drawing attention to) and you’ll be fine. You have no other choice.

Of course it’s fine! I’ve taken mine at far older ages than that. In fact, when my 4 year old had his pre-school boosters he asked if he’d have the injection in his bum like mummy BlushGrin

Not a problem. I took my baby with me to have my coil fitted. It's just the same as any other appointment.

Its nice of you to be considerate, but you are over-thinking it. Just go in, get your stuff, and go out. It might be a bit sad for some people there to see a baby, but babies are everywhere.

ScruffGin · 28/04/2019 20:49

No problem, I had to take my 2 month old with me for my coil insertion, they weren't fazed at all!

I had a contraceptive implant put in with a baby on my boob!

Thank you for your responses, I just wasn't sure on the protocol at all!

I will aim to get there for when they open which will hopefully coincide with LOs first nap of the day
