Pocket money - how much and what for?

Posting for traffic.

I’m interested in hearing about how much pocket money you give your children and teenagers, and if you pay for extras like mobile phone contracts or if they have to fund that from their spending money.
Also are they expected to do chores to earn it?

My 6 and 7yos have recently started wanting pocket money. For now they get £1 a week if they feed the ducks and guinea pigs (one each), lay the table, take their own dishes out and make their beds.

£10 - £15 a week.

I’d expect to still pay for there phone contract and normal everyday essentials. If I was out with them myself I’d still buy little treats like sweets/star bucks.

I expect them to do chores anyway. I don’t connect it to money.

Mine gets £5 a week. It's not linked to helping around the house, she is expected to do that regardless. I pay for her phone. Her money is for whatever she wants to spend it on.
