Throw out cheap clothes bought from EBAY - China and chemicals?

Ordered myself some new clothes from eBay. Cheap basics like tips for £6, trousers for £8 etc. They’re clearly cheap clothes from China and I didn’t expect anything different.

The smell of chemicals is still overpowering after 3 washes. Google tells me that things like formaldehyde can’t be washed out. So should I wear them or just bin them and lesson learned?

Bin them.

Hang them outside for a week or two

I had similar experience but with a small table. I later realised it was impregnated with formaldehyde. Put it in the conservatory and the heat made it give off terrible fumes. I returned it and got a refund.

I’d just bin them. I got a headache from the smell.

I’d never order children’s clothes like this/give them to them, so I guess I’ve got to treat myself in the same vein and bin them.

Stop buying cheap clothes. Good quality clothes will last longer saving money in the long run.

It’s the first time I’ve done it. Finances and changing size meant I wanted some nice basic summer stuff and couldn’t find what I wanted in the shops. Annoyingly they are actually soft and the shape that I want/suit me well. I just can’t get the thought of chemicals out me head now
