It's lidl Scottish tablet and it is fucking divine. It's creamy but has bit of tablet through it and is just so damn good.

You're welcome.

I'm partial to a bit of tablet in my ice cream.....

MissGruffalo · 26/04/2019 13:33

Mmm, tablet...

QuestionableMouse · 26/04/2019 13:33

What is tablet?

PlainSpeakingStraightTalking · 26/04/2019 13:37

@deadposh - fudge

QuestionableMouse · 26/04/2019 13:37

Like really good fudge with a crumbly texture. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tablet_(confectionery)

Ooh, wonder if it tastes anything like the Haagen Daz salted caramel icecream which is £4.20 !!

InTheHeatofLisbon · 26/04/2019 13:52

Tablet isn't fudge. It's made of the same stuff but heated more and has a different texture.

Tablet ice cream is amazing though! Although for me it's got to be from Equi's in Hamilton but I don't know if they're nationwide or not. We can get them in Hamilton Asda .

Knowivedonewrong · 26/04/2019 13:54

lizzie Morrisons are doing Hagen Daz salted caramel for £2.50 at the moment.

mum2three0 · 26/04/2019 13:54

Misses the point but tablet and fudge are totally different🤦‍♀️

Deadposhtory · 26/04/2019 15:09

ohhh must get to lidl. I wonder if Aldi do a similar one?

LizzieMacQueen · 26/04/2019 17:06

@Knowivedonewrong Thank you. Might just wander over there later.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 26/04/2019 17:11

Sorry, but you need to go to Rome. To a small shop near the Trevi fountain. That has the best ice cream. No question.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 26/04/2019 17:18

Just to confuse the fudge/tablet issue - I make the fudge recipe from the Penguin cook book, and if you follow the instructions to the letter, you end up with something that is much more like tablet - same crumbly, sugar-crystal texture, and not a soft chewy texture.

In other news - I may need to go to LIDL for some ice cream....

TeacupDrama · 26/04/2019 17:19

Pumpkin and amaretto from a wee shop in Soave Italy

SugarMiceInTheRain · 26/04/2019 17:22

Ooh sounds good. Have also tried Equi's in Hamilton which was lovely. I highly rate Luca's in Edinburgh too if you live around there! Shame I live in the Midlands where I can't get either of them without a 5 hour drive each way!

ChristianGreysAnatomy · 26/04/2019 17:22

Best ice cream ever is Salcombe Dairy honeycomb.

Everything else is mere dust and shadows by comparison.

TroysMammy · 26/04/2019 17:24

Joe's from Swansea. Their slogan "Everything else is just ice cream" is right.

LaurieFairyCake · 26/04/2019 17:26

The best ice cream is Roskilly's

Now and forever

ZippyBungleandGeorge · 26/04/2019 17:28

Suffolk made Alder Tree ice cream, pear and vanilla completely delicious. I can't say that very loudly around here though I live in a Rossi stronghold.

AuchAyeTheNo · 26/04/2019 17:34

Tablet is nothing like fudge!!l 😤

Tablet is the most divine sugary teeth rotting sweet in the world. Fudge is a sodgy mess.

FuzzyPuffling · 26/04/2019 17:37

I was disappointed by the Lidl tablet ice cream. I expected it to be tablet-flavoured ice cream with big lumps of more tablet in, but it was just vanilla-ey stuff with tiny specks of tablet in.

Not a patch on their salted caramel and praline ice cream, which is the BEST.

MereDintofPandiculation · 26/04/2019 17:45

The best ice cream is Hockings in N Devon. But you have to be in N Devon to get hold of it.

ThatssomebadhatHarry · 26/04/2019 17:45

Seconded Joes is unbelievable.

Scotsrule · 26/04/2019 21:27

Unfortunately no Equi’s south of the border - one of the big misses from home. Dime bar and Sophie’s crunch, yummy!
