To wake the baby?

5 week old DD has been sleeping for 6 hours now- my boobs are like boulders. Is it unfair to wake her to feed? I can’t be bothered to go downstairs and fetch the breast pump!

I feel mean waking her for my own comfort!

Dream feed? Just put her on and she might not even wake up
I just formula fed my 5 week old who has slept for just over 5 hours - must be something in the water tonight!

Dream feed worth a try. A lot of babies will latch on in their sleep.

I used to hand express a load straight into a muslin to ease the pressure off.

At 5 weeks I would feed her. As previous poster said, she may not even wake up.

If it's night time then I wouldn't but if it's during the day then yes I would if she was usually easy to get back to sleep.

Also if they are really hard you might have to hand express a little anyway to enable her to latch properly.
