So long way off yet but DD and DS both have short 3 letter names. Currently pregnant with 3rd should I keep the 3 letter "theme"? So it would end up being 3 kids all 3 letter names 😂 or longer name?

AIBU to have another 3 letter or is it tacky/wierd?

Themed names are a bit weird, I wouldn’t do it. A family friend named all four of her DD’s after a colour so it was a surprise when she had a DS and named him Albert Grin.

As most people will generally be dealing with only one of your children at a time throughout their lives, will anyone even know?

Just do it but there's no need to point it out. If your friends or family notice and comment about them all having three letter names, just say, yes they have haven't they...

TheInebriati · 24/04/2019 16:57

So disappointed I cant make a Hugo pun.

NoSauce · 24/04/2019 16:58

If it’s a name you love and not just one that fits then I see no harm.

StCharlotte · 24/04/2019 16:58

It can go to extremes. I know someone who is one of nine and all their first initials are J and their middle names all begin with L. No secrets in that house when the post arrives...

Both me and my sister have 5 letter names. I don't think it was intentional.
Also no one has ever battered an eye lid.

AmIRightOrAMeringue · 24/04/2019 17:02

Just go with whatever you like, I honestly dont think anyone will care. Also lots of longer names are shortened to 3 letters like Joseph- Joe and Catherine- cat

Elisannah · 24/04/2019 17:12

I wouldn't choose a name just to make it fit with the theme but I also wouldn't let it stop me using a 3 lettered name if that's the name we loved. My 2 girls have a similar sounding ending to their names which was completely unintentional. Another name we like also has the same sounding...worried if we had another girl then people would think it was on purpose...but then who cares if it's the name we really like?

NotSoThinLizzy · 24/04/2019 17:17

I'm already being asked by friends and familys if I'm continuing it 😂

I honestly don't think anyone would make the connection. E.g. Zoe/Joe/Ann/Sam/Ben...most could be shortened versions of other names anyway. I'm amazed people have already noticed and commented to you.
