To think there is no way to paint a straight line?

Redecorating the bedroom. Need a straight line. I've used masking tape, leaves bubbles underneath. Used a shitty tool from B&Q, didn't work. Cant paint over twice using this method:

as my top colour is so different from the other (royal blue and cream).

ARGGHHH.

You need frog tape, I painted this with frog tape and a bubble stick

Haha thank you!

Masking tape is shite! Definitely try frog tape, it’s miles better.

Rinoachicken · 24/04/2019 09:26

Frog tape. It has something coating it that ‘repels’ the paint so you don’t get any seepage underneath like you do with masking tape.

Frog tape was an absolute disaster whenever I've tried it. Other friends and acquaintances all say the same. It rips off the paint where its stuck. So if you do the ceiling first, let it dry, then apply frog tape all around so you can get a sharp line between wall and ceiling, then paint your walls and peel off the frog tape, you'll find it takes off big patches of ceiling, which you then have to do again. Grrr.

Another call for frog tape here. Just don't leave it on too long after you've finished painting.

CareBear50 · 24/04/2019 16:38

Frog tape is great. Ensure you remove it while paint is still wet though

I'd never heard of frog tape until this week - there's another thread running saying how it just pulls the paint off the wall that you've stuck it to.
