Love the new season so far, but I can't help but think that the crypt is literally the least safe place in Winterfell?

I mean, you're about to fight an army of the dead, led by someone who can resurrect the dead to fight for him. So you're going to send the most vulnerable to an underground crypt...

AIBU to think that out of all of the clever characters, surely someone should have noticed the flaw in this plan?!

It’s the worst plan ever.... I can hardly bear to watch, but I can’t bear not to.

Please just don’t kill Jon Snurr...

Ameanstreakamilewide · 24/04/2019 11:14

Or Egg-on Toast as i now call him who knows nothing. 😉

Bibijayne · 24/04/2019 11:16

Totally the worst idea. The fact they keep mentioning it means it's a REALLY bad idea. Though I think Tully and Turion will prevail against any Whitewalkers, Sam too.

Averyimportantperson · 24/04/2019 16:33

OMG this never even occurred to me!

autumnboys · 24/04/2019 16:35

It’s a terrible idea.

TeaForTheWin · 24/04/2019 16:41

They do seem to be indicating that something bad is going to happen to the ppl in the crypt, that's for sure.

But maybe they assume any bodies down there are too far gone to be risen. Or maybe they burned them so there are only ashes. Or maybe there aren't any bodies down there, just the statues commemorating them.

Dunno what else it could be...unless there is a secret tunnel into the crypts that the nightking knows about so he sends his people there first...

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone · 24/04/2019 16:45

I'm so glad it is not just me. I mentioned this to my DH when we watched episode 2 on Monday and he couldn't see the problem until I very literally pointed out the fact a crypt is full of buried dead people! I agree with a previous poster is does not fill me with great confidence that they mentioned it so much. It is almost as if they don't want you to forget there will be thousands of people hiding in the crypt when the battle occurs.Hmm

LoudestRoar · 24/04/2019 16:47

As much as I agree it's a bad idea, a small part if me wants to see White Walker Ned Stark!

Picklypickles · 24/04/2019 17:14

But he wont have a head!!!

JustMarriedBecca · 24/04/2019 17:17

Did you see the theory the Night King has gone to Kings Landing. There is a million people there to kill and recruit to his army.

I'd be super excited about Monday but I have Line of Duty to watch on Sunday first

GrandmaSharksDentures · 24/04/2019 17:19

Do you think the Knight King could bring back those killed in the Sept of Baelor (sp)? Imagine a white walker Joffrey...!

ThatssomebadhatHarry · 24/04/2019 17:20

Ah they could have had zombie Leanna Stark telling Jon Snow to surrender to the knight king, he says you can’t tell me what to do ‘your not my muvva’ as she yells ‘yes I ammmm’

merrymouse · 24/04/2019 17:21

The Crypt isn't safe, but where would be safer?

(Also, they already have the set and next week's battle scene must have been really expensive Grin)

ElfridaEtAl · 24/04/2019 17:21

@TeaForTheWin I would hope the Starks would have been smart enough to burn their dead but in the very first episode Robert Baratheon said to Ned "Did you have to bury her down here? She should be on a hill side with the sun and clouds above her" about Lyanna, indicating that she is actually buried there. Hopefully just her ashes otherwise Jon may be getting a visit from mummy dearest

TeaForTheWin · 24/04/2019 17:22

I suppose he has to be close enough to them to raise them from the dead (maybe able to see them).

Perhaps they feel he would need to get past them to the crypts first. for raising anyone to be a possibility and by then, all the dead will be with him anyway. Plus they assume he is going to try and find bran so they will be able to kill him first anyway.

TeaForTheWin · 24/04/2019 17:24

Elfrieda, uh oh, that could be trouble then.

(hears the chucklebrothers saying 'oh dear oh dear' xD)

ElfridaEtAl · 24/04/2019 17:29

I assume there will be some buried there, as in the beginning weren't they all oh there's been no white walkers for a thousand years, so they probably thought they were safe.
