Avocado is disgusting.

Smotheroffive · 24/04/2019 21:36

I do believe this thread is simply about being really nasty, out-grouping and insulting.

Oh and loads of 'opinions' presented as facts.

Its an excuse to be abusive about others, women, sahm/wohm...much ignorance

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 24/04/2019 21:45

Fair enough,It’s your perogative to dislike any thread inc this
but your dislike for the thread is not reason for anyone to refrain from posting

Mammylamb · 24/04/2019 22:05

Smother. It wasn’t meant to be nasty. It was more about hearing folks controversial opinions. I’m sorry if I’ve upset you

OP posts:
LipstickHandbagCoffee · 24/04/2019 22:10

Do you apologise on all mn threads mammy or just this one?

Mammylamb · 24/04/2019 22:12

If I think I’ve upset someone and I’ve not meant to. Then yes

OP posts:
Herland · 24/04/2019 22:19

Wind yer neck in @Lipstick. If Op wants to apologise then she can.

londonloves · 24/04/2019 22:19

Apologising is not a sign of weakness, it's a sign of not being a twat.

Smotheroffive · 24/04/2019 22:35

I am.far from thinking you posted this thread to 'upset' me Confused goodness.

It might have been very naïve of you, if I take it as well intentioned.

Inviting unpopular opinions....well, this is what you get...

Smotheroffive · 24/04/2019 22:37

It's an open door to any to say unpopular things?! Which you admit to 'enjoying'

Smotheroffive · 24/04/2019 22:40

Calling people on being nasty, and extremely judgemental based on nothing, certainly not evidence, isn't reason to not post either.

It's freedom of speech in action calling out utter shite for what it is. HTH

...and hating the sarcasm of HTH Grin

shimmerer · 24/04/2019 23:01

I think society puts a lot of pressure on girls (particularly the high-achieving ones) to make something of themselves in the marketplace. But there is no shame in aiming to get married and spend a few decades primarily raising a family. I take issue with the idea that investing a lot of time and energy in your children is drudgery or brain-dead work.

squeekums · 25/04/2019 04:49

@m4rdybum
Avocado is disgusting

Yes! Completely agree

Shows like the bachelor or love island are only watched by the brain dead

Soccer isn't real football

I'm glad we live far enough from school I'm rarely asked to help at school events or to join the p and c type things.

OkPedro · 25/04/2019 05:18

What is “real football” squeekums Confused

Mississippilessly · 25/04/2019 05:25

The whole 'nest of vipers' thing is an embarrassing attempt to make bullying ok.
Some posters should be thoroughly ashamed of what they say to others on here and no it isn't 'straight talking', its being a cunt.

I believe at least half of MN are trolls.

amandacarnet · 25/04/2019 05:35

Although step parents knew their partner had kids when they got together, if they have never had kids themselves, they probably did not understand the full impact. Certainly most parents seem taken aback about the impact of having kids, so I don't see why step parents should fully understand the impact beforehand.

Whatamistakewhatamistake · 25/04/2019 06:55

I agree Amanda, a stepmother is expected to assess exactly how her life will pan out for the next (up to) 18 years and make a judgement on how she’ll cope with her partners kids without any experience of them!

Propertywoes · 25/04/2019 06:58

Sometimes a stepmum is a better parent to a child than their mum.

Mammylamb · 25/04/2019 07:40

Smother. Delighted that you are not upset. Have a lovely day!

OP posts:
amandacarnet · 25/04/2019 08:37

Sometimes it is really obvious from the outside where a parent is making mistakes with a child that is causing poor behaviour. But of course no one is allowed to say, as the mantra is that parents understand their kids better than anyone else. Except that is not always true.

pitterpatterbaby · 25/04/2019 08:56

Labels get given to children too freely. A lot of the time it's bad parenting, environment or food/diet. It's a shame that the system gets swamped because of this and the children with real issues get lost.

CoolCatKat · 25/04/2019 09:02

"I do wonder your intention in starting this, and the other, thread, @mammylamb"

Does it matter? Its entertaining and nice that free speech still exists on both sides of each argument.

Ewitsahooman · 25/04/2019 09:13

Labels such as....?

More often than not, when a dog bites a human it's a human's fault because they've either been put in a situation they shouldn't have been put in, or they have been showing the more subtle signs of stress and have been ignored so eventually ended up with no option but to bite. Truly unprovoked attacks are incredibly rare.

Anyone who kills another road user and carelessness or negligence is involved should lose their licence for life. Driving is a privilege not a right.

The world is overpopulated and having a child is the least environmentally friendly choice ever as it adds a whole extra human of carbon emissions.

4x4s and other vehicles with poor fuel efficiency should only be permitted for use by those with a specific need for them eg farmers. I'm fed up of seeing Chelsea Tractors in the Sainsbury's car park looking sparkling clean.

If you choose not to vaccinate your child and the child gets that disease, you should be billed for the treatment (or actually, just make vaccinations mandatory for anyone who wants to send their child to school or receive child benefit).

RiddleyW · 25/04/2019 11:12

She obviously means autism/ADHD and so on. Threads like these always attract these shitty human beings.
