To think this is a worrying episode of Peppa Pig?

It's the one where Daddy Pig can't find his glasses.

Mummy Pig's reaction is very tense, like she's overly keen to find them so Daddy Pig doesn't get too upset doesn't start throwing his weight around

It's like she's very anxious to make it clear to him that it'll all be okay, that he's the silly one for losing them, etc etc.

And she keeps on telling the kids that Daddy Pig will be very 'grumpy' if they aren't found, and if they are found, this can all stop. He will go back to being 'happy' again.

AIBU?!

I'm stuck in Hell...well an Omniplex in the dark with the Peppa movie. I want to KILL Edmund that little smart ass

I forgot about Jo Brand alligator, that puts paid to my theory. I didn't like that episode, it always seemed as though Jo Brand alligator wanted to eat Madam Gazelle.

Non alliterative George bothers me too. Baby Alexander doesn't have an alliterative name either (nor does Chloe but they call her Cousin Chloe so does that count?) There's an episode where the kids try to name the Rabbit twins and Pedro suggests Sharon and they all think he's an idiot for not suggesting an 'R' name. I laughed at it but DH thought I'd lost it.

Just watching the episode where Mr Potato and Super Potato visit the school. They're v odd, which says a lot considering the rest of the programme.

MMama18 · 26/04/2019 10:50

@FromDespair watch ‘Miss Rabbits Day Off’, Mummy Rabbit has an identical twin sister called Miss Rabbit who has loads of jobs.

@10Percent I agree with your DH

DD has recently got into Peppa Pig after seeing it at her cousins house, I was doing my best to avoid it 🙄 there are far worse things, Peppa is rude and spoilt and I hate it 😬

CheerfulMuddler · 26/04/2019 13:14

I thought the potato thing was because human kids watch a show about anthropomorphic animals, so anthropomorphic animals have to watch a show about anthropomorphic vegetables. (Dunno what the vegetables watch. Anthropomorphic rocks?) Agree it all gets a bit weird when they actually meet Mr Potato, mind.
I'm rather fond of Daddy Pig. I love how enthusiastic he gets about something really mundane like a day off or a piece of cake. The episode where he's supposed to be looking after the kids while Mummy works, and they all end up on her lap gave me the rage though.

Is anybody watching Jeremy Vine on Channel 5 right now?

Mr Bull is on as a guest (although he's using a pseudonym). Not sure if the next topic will be "Is it ever acceptable to dig up the road on a bank holiday?" The programme is scheduled to finish at 11:15, but it might overrun as I assume that it'll take as long as it takes Grin

TessieVanKendre · 07/05/2019 10:45

Omg, are you actually being for real??🤦‍♀️

floraloctopus · 07/05/2019 10:49

There are episodes of Peppa Pig.

Well, if it wasn't him, then the resemblance is uncanny. He was using the stage name 'James Max' Grin

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 07/05/2019 11:26

Mr bull is played by Brian Blessed I think

On the subject of names, Suzy Sheep always bugged me. Why not Sharon Sheep, or Sheila Sheep?

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 07/05/2019 11:35

According to Wikipedia, it's David Rintoul. BB is perfect as Grampy Rabbit, though!

The chap on JV doesn't sound anything like him - I just can't see him on there (he's been on a few times) without involuntarily going "MOOOOOOOOO!!!!" I'm sure James is a nice man and I'm not saying he's unattractive - just that he strongly reminds me of (a human version of) Mr Bull!

DD's p1 teacher thought it was a lovely idea to put on Scottish peppa pig at the end of the day for her class of 5 year olds. They were doing a Scotland project at the time so it seemed in keeping. She moved possible the fastest she ever has once she realised, from the other side of the room, what the content was 😆

Oh no!!!!!! Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock

Maybe she should either vet things carefully before she shows them to the children - or otherwise stick to things that she knows will be safe and age-appropriate, such as 'Boro Postman Pat Grin Grin Grin

Very good point. The letter is the same, but the sound is not alliterative, so that may not make a lot of sense to pre-readers.
