To feel incredibly anxious today

I’ve been away for the long weekend visiting family on the coast. I went with DH and had a lovely time just relaxing really. I’ve just got back home to London and feel really anxious and depressed at the thought of work tomorrow. I actually enjoy my job and don’t have anything particularly stressful to deal with this week - it’s just the thought of going back to work in general as opposed to being off that’s making me down I think. Returning to the stressful city after being in a quieter environment is also making me down - even though I do love London mostly.

DH is telling me to just relax and enjoy the sun but I can’t get rid of this anxious feeling. Is this normal after a long weekend off work?

No. I would be looking at a life change if I regularly felt this way. It doesn’t sound like you enjoy your London life very much at all if a normal week beginning feels bad enough to cause actual anxiety.

It's natural after enjoying your break away. Try not to spoil the rest of your day. Do something nice with your DH.

Fairly normal to feel a bit low after being In a beautiful and peaceful environment and then returning the chaos of urban London. I love London but found both living and working there started to up my anxiety so I moved to the countryside and commute in now. I have never felt so relaxed and my anxiety is a thing of the past. Fun hangover! I suffer from them so badly. Try to accept the feeling, maybe plan your next trip in your head or online so you have something to look forward to even if it's way in future. It passes after a day so, but you have my total sympathy with the horrible anxious feeling.
