Does the Easter Bunny bring toys to your children?

I am married and have a lovely DSS, he was at our house until yesterday afternoon where the Easter Bunny came and brought his eggs early. He has phoned today asking where his presents are off the Easter Bunny at our house as he brought him a few things at his mum's & some eggs. Can't remember this happening last year but I'm pretty gobsmacked. AIBU to think he only brings eggs? Toys are for Christmas and birthdays!

CupcakeDrama · 21/04/2019 20:27

Loads of people buy their kids toys for easter and new clothes I think its ridiculous personally

PotteringAlong · 21/04/2019 20:28

Nope, just an egg here!

chocolatebuttonsandcheese · 21/04/2019 20:29

I buy an Easter related book and an egg as I limit the chocolate due to grandparents giving a lot of chocolate

MadeForThis · 21/04/2019 20:29

Nope. A few small eggs here. Granny buys some clothes cause I hate them getting too much chocolate. But it's something small like a T-shirt.

DD's are 3 and 1.

Not sure about older dc. But we won't be doing it.

mindutopia · 21/04/2019 20:30

No, at our house the Easter bunny only brought a few mini eggs this year because everyone and there mother already sent a damn Easter egg.

ThisIsTheEndgame · 21/04/2019 20:30

No such thing as the Easter bunny in this house.

hidinginthenightgarden · 21/04/2019 20:30

No, they get chocolate. They have 4 eggs each. One from each set of Granparents and one from great granparents. One plus a bunny from us.
Toys are a step too far!

Marilynmansonsthermos · 21/04/2019 20:30

Hell no, it's not Christmas!

CheshireChat · 21/04/2019 20:31

Easter bunny brings toys here, but I'm not English so different experiences

TheGoogleMum · 21/04/2019 20:32

Mine is too little for chocolate but I plan to do a chocolate egg only. Easter isn't a time for random gifts! I did get her a book this year instead of a chocolate egg

Unicornshopkeeper · 21/04/2019 20:33

No Easter Bunny here either

We did a small egg hunt and one of the treats was a Playmobil egg worth around £5. I guess that counts

MaryShelley1818 · 21/04/2019 20:33

Our Easter Bunny brought DS a small white chocolate lamb, a small cuddly lamb (£1.49!) and a new book.
So he did get gifts but very small ones.

Mari50 · 21/04/2019 20:33

I bought my dd a stuffed toy but she didn’t get any Easter eggs from me and we don’t do the Easter bunny.

lanbro · 21/04/2019 20:34

The Easter Bunny hid eggs in our house but did leave an outfit and chocolate at grandma's...other grandma has paid for new sandals

My newsfeed on fb is full of pictures of Easter presents, almost as bad as Christmas and I am Confused

DramaAlpaca · 21/04/2019 20:34

Please tell me this isn't a thing now Shock

In our house it's always been chocolate only. Presents are for birthdays and Christmas.

Your DSS is very cheeky, btw. Asking for presents is really rude.

PhillipeFellope · 21/04/2019 20:34

Yes. The Easter bunny brings chocolate, toys, books and clothes in our house.

But your dss was rude.

OKBobble · 21/04/2019 20:36

No Easter Bunny here. Just parents who buy an easter egg for their children

Nolagerformethanks · 21/04/2019 20:37

I'm starting to think we shouldn't do the Easter Bunny, we are not going to compete and tell him to be grateful for what he was given from us. He got headphones, clothes and a game, not sure what else. All the little gifts here (books, cuddly lamb etc) sound lovely though, this was definitely more than those kind of things!

Our son gets toys from the Easter bunny.
Works for us

Nolagerformethanks · 21/04/2019 20:39

He's usually such a polite little boy, he's only 5. He's probably confused but we will be explaining to him not to ask for presents and to be grateful for what he has! It has really annoyed me. We didn't even buy anything for our baby as he's too young and he's complaining about what he didn't get!

I've not even bought eggs for my kids they've still acquired 7 eggs between them from various hunts and party favours over the last few weeks

Commercialised nonsense

RainbowMum11 · 21/04/2019 20:42

We don't have the Easter bunny either, so no choc or present from me but did take her to an egg hunt so she got an egg from there.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 21/04/2019 20:43

No. Just chocolate. However mine are older now. But I have a few friends with younger children who seem to go down the easter basket route and so wake up to a large basket of gifts ranging from chocolate to one I know of got an Instax camera, another an iPad mini. Most seem to be smaller gifts like books or Lego sets though.
