Mice.

We've got mice in the garden shed. Probably dormice as we live next to a field, but the problem has been getting worse over the last couple of weeks. Not too worried as it's part of living in the countryside, but the droppings are getting out of hand.

Today, thanks to the BH weekend, I finally had time to empty the shed and block off the holes where I think they're getting in.

DH came in the shed for a look before I'd had chance to sweep up the droppings. Wearing his slippers. Slippers that he's banned from wearing outside, never mind inside a shit-filled shed.

He then proceeds to go upstairs, into ours and then into DS's room WEARING THE SAME SLIPPERS. And probably walked on DS's rug too.

I hoovered and washed that bastard floor this morning. AIBU to make him disinfect his slippers then go and wash the floor again?

No, throw the slippers in the wash too if you can, and get a cat.

I live out in the woods and we get mice from time to time but the cats keep them under control.

Hmmm I see your pain but I don’t think I could get too worried about it personally. Can you actually see any droppings that were walked into the house? I would’ve thought he wouldn’t actually pick up much on his shoes. Aren’t the droppings quite dry? Then on the walk back to the house most would rub off in the garden.

But then I often go in the garden in my slippers and I have had mice in my actual house and while I did bleach where I could, if I had been that strict I would have gone crazy.

Have a cat but she couldn't care less, she's a lazy arse!

I'm not obsessively clean but the droppings are REALLY bad. It looks like an infestation.

DH is tired, I'm tired, we've both had a long week and have been snappy with each other today. He's actually amazing in terms of housework and was busy doing the ironing while I polyfillad the gaps where the mice are getting in the shed (very modern). However, he is shit at actually KEEPING the place clean. Taking dirty shoes up to my beautiful clean floor (I loathe mopping btw)), after I'd already told him he shouldn't be wearing them in the shed, just tipped me over the edge.

He has since apologised after disinfecting his slippers and is now making me dinner Smile

Just have to wait now and see i win against the mice too!
