So I'm not sure if I am being incredibly judgemental, but my friend's kid is 10, 11 in June and he still believes..

I've never come across a kid that old who still believed. I'm sure me and all my friends clocked on way before then...it seems a little strange to me that at 10 you can still truly believe a giant bunny hops around the world delivering eggs?

Why is it too old?

Sparklesocks · 21/04/2019 15:32

Ah I think it’s sweet.
He’s only a kid, seems mean to think of him badly for enjoying childhood things.

TeaForTheWin · 21/04/2019 15:34

...I think it's odd to ever believe in the easter bunny. I mean santa and maybe the tooth fairy, fair enough but...easter bunny? It's like the kids parents have just made up any excuse to bullcrap them xD

And yes it is too old. Might not be the brightest kid xD mind you maybe they just have a boundless imagination. Or maybe they are faking the belief in order to get something. Not your kid, not your problem xD

PregnantSea · 21/04/2019 15:34

Yes, he's too old. Are you sure he definitely does believe? I'm just surprised that no one from school has said anything to him about this.

Ewitsahooman · 21/04/2019 15:35

Does he believe or "believe"? Because 10yo DS found out the truth about Santa at Christmas and confessed that he more or less knew last Christmas but pretended to still believe just in case he was wrong.

They all come to the realisation in their own time, nothing wrong with him still believing.

Purpleartichoke · 21/04/2019 15:35

He may not actually believe. Dd actually stopped around 6, but didn’t tell us because she thought the presents would stop. Once I reassured her that Santa brings gifts until you are an adult, she admitted that she knew.

Desmondo2016 · 21/04/2019 15:36

I didn't realise anyone actually did the Easter bunny charade for real so imo yanbu lol.

flumpybear · 21/04/2019 15:37

My DD believes! ... I think 🤔 and she's 10

SparklyLeprechaun · 21/04/2019 15:41

Children believe in the Easter bunny? For real? It's more like a cartoon character that toddlers might find funny for a bit.

theonewiththecats · 21/04/2019 15:43

my 11 year old believes (though has SN). agree, for an NT child it is a bit odd.

eddiemairswife · 21/04/2019 15:49

When did this Easter bunny come to the UK? Is he an illegal immigrant or an asylum seeker? Has he got a work permit? Has he applied for school places for his (many)children?

Aprilladvised · 21/04/2019 15:52

Why should they not believe? I hate this judgement of what children should and shouldn't believe. It is nobody's business but the parents and the child.

I have a ten year old who believes in Santa. Should I tell him because Wentsworth says he is too old? We have never done the Easter bunny but he thinks we should have. I Think it is lovely that he and most of his friends still believe (in Santa, I don't know about the EB) at this age. Eventually they will realise that there is no magic in the world only mostly grim reality and they'll live with that for the rest of their days.

Love live a child's belief in magic.

Heratnumber7 · 21/04/2019 15:52

I didn't realise the Easter Bunny was a thing - ie it brought the eggs.

MissClareRemembers · 21/04/2019 15:55

People believe in all sorts of schizzle. Isn’t this entire weekend all about someone else allegedly returning from the dead??

If it makes him happy, leave him to it. No harm done.

I didn’t know the Easter Bunny was a “thing” to believe in. My DS four believes in Santa and the tooth fairy but we’ve never introduced the Easter bunny?!
He got any Easter Egg today and that’s it.....

windydoggy · 21/04/2019 16:00

I do find this Easter bunny thing a bit odd, bunny's don't lay eggs .
I am 50 and had all Easter eggs on breakfast table as a treat . Daughter is 30 and I always did a egg hunt in garden but no mention of Easter bunny .
Grandchildren have a egg hunt but again no mention of a bunny .
What year did bunny's get involved ? They don't lay sodding eggs 😁

I think any age is too old to believe in the Easter bunny.

Andanotherthingg · 21/04/2019 16:02

I got up at 6am this morning so I could sneek out to decorate the garden and hide eggs, I didn't realise kids didn't believe in the easter bunny!
What's not to like! It's just something fun to do after all.
10 isn't too old, maybe 12 onwards I would say but can't see why it matters tbh.

mcjx · 21/04/2019 16:03

I never believed in the Easter bunny, it was never a thing when I was a kid.

Believed in Santa and the tooth fairy though as well for a little while

ilovesooty · 21/04/2019 16:04

The Easter bunny is an utterly ridiculous concept.

Butterymuffin · 21/04/2019 16:04

Yep, judgemental. Let kids grow up at their own pace.

Comefromaway · 21/04/2019 16:05

Dd was 6 and Ds 4 before we found out the Easter bunny was a thing. Dh had once dressed up as anEaster bunny at a park fun day but it was just a fun thing, he was a man in a costume it wasn’t meant to be real.

PumpkinPiesInTheOven · 21/04/2019 16:07

Im amused that people think believing in the Easter bunny is ridiculous but Santa nor for somw reason.
