To ask if their are any seamstresses who can offer a solution to this small issue with a dress I bought yesterday.

Bought a little summer dress from DP yesterday and one of the cap sleeves keeps sticking up! The other sleeve doesn’t do it and this sleeve doesn’t do it permanently, starts off flat and then springs up!

I’ve included a photo so that you can see what’s going on.

Rather than me trudge back to the place I bought it from, is there a quick solution to this? Anything I can do myself to sort the springy little sucker out myself?

It wasn’t expensive but it’s rather annoying!

Fold it back and put some stitches in where the overlocking is.

So sew the seam onto the inside of the sleeve if that makes sense? You can use tiny little stitches and dark thread so you can’t see it.

But give it a good iron first with everything laying flat and that should help.

Excuse the typo in the title!

Does it not just need a good press in the right direction?

Theheather, due to being a lazy mare, I tried this first but nope, that didn’t work.

I have tacked the sleeve as Diana suggested. I haven’t done a great job and it’s not neat but it’s now lying the correct way.
