Asking for car recommendations?

Not sure what topic to post in.

So looking to buy a new car, the first one I actually saved up for, my current one is an small, old "granny" car which was bought for a few hundred £££s when it was badly needed and on good offer a few years ago so this is the first time I can actually take my pick properly.

But I don't really know much about cars and would love some opinions.

My budget is 6k, I quite like the Dacia Sandero Stepway Laureate. I love how it looks on the outside and the size of it but inside ended feeling a bit disappointing as it wasn't much different to my current 2004 car when I sat in one recently (I mean it is cheap for a 2014/15 model so can't expect miracles I suppose).
Nevertheless I still do like it.

But I am now wondering if there are better cars out there with better spec for that budget.

I am looking for something not bigger than the Dacia and preferably not an estate. Good sized boot. Comfortable and nice looking. Have 2 DCs and DDog so something family friendly. And Safe.

Any recommendations out there?

I have heard good things about the Nissan qashqai (sp?) And you could probably get a second hand one for around that budget. They look similar to the one you mentioned.

We have a Ford b max and love it. It has sliding rear doors which is so handy for getting kids out in tight spaces - no need for P&C spaces here 😀

I've had Toyota in the past as I bought it for the reliability but I read in auto express that Dacia is more reliable than Toyota and Honda. Dacia has always been a budget car brand so I think based on this I'd buy one.
Think it was 97% out of 100% for reliability.

Most of my car's have been Nissan. Sooooo reliable. Great cars.

I really can't recommend Kia brand enough for reliability and customer care, we've had one and my MIL has had 3 (that's we've picked) and never had any issues. All have been great value for money and and such great quality and never in the garage apart from routine servicing and tyres. Also love BMW but they are a whole new price bracket and SAAB but they no longer make them.
