I bloody love bacon. Fat and salt in huge quantities is bloody delicious. That said it's horrendously unhealthy and I'm trying to basically give it up (I'll still have it occasionally but not on a weekly basis).

Absolutely not. My husband would have it every day if he could. It's ok. As a former vegetarian though, I confirm it wasn't that which swayed me

Books - yes sausages are so much better!

I can still remember my delight on moving to my second job and finding a) I didn't need to be in till 10am or later b) I could go straight to the canteen on arrival c) they sold bread rolls with serve-yourself bacon (ie as many slices as you could decently fit in)

Well cooked just turning crispy bacon Yabu. Anaemic limp handshake bacon we’re all better off without.

Yabu not only are bacon sandwiches lovely, bacon is full of flavour and really brings a special element to many dishes. Just avoid limp, pale unsmoked bacon where you might end up choking on the rind (like you get in a McDonalds breakfast)

I will concede sausages are better but yabu and clearly cooking it wrong if you think bacon is overrated!

I prefer sausages too. Square sausage is yummy as well

Several veggie friends have said that the smell of bacon cooking is what has nearly converted them to return to the dark side. My veggie daughter says the smell of bacon cooking repulsed her!
I always think I will like bacon more than I actually do. Although I had a very nice bacon and sausage bap from the Cornish Pasty Co (?) on Preston station last week.

I have been vegetarian since 14yo and I'm now nearly 53. So I've been baconless three times longer than I'd been bacony . I still remember the tins of bacon grill that we used to eat ( dark ages of the 70s/80s)

I can totally get why bacon will draw people back.

We eat Quorn bacon, its sort of smokey and salty but it repeats on me or hours

Oddly, I was only pondering today, that it must be YEARS since I bought and really yummy bacon. Was seriously thinking of asking people locally if anyone knows where you can get some really tasty bacon.

Bacon used to be so nice, but I think - sadly like a lot of food - it has somehow been watered down.... I don't know, maybe more processed?? .... and just doesn't taste like it should.

If I have a cooked breakfast, I'll ask for no bacon but an extra sausage. Not a big fan of bacon personally - greasy, fatty and salty.
