Wot no mini eggs?!

Needed to but mini eggs today for Easter egg hunt and also to decorate Nigella Easter cake. None in Aldi, none in Morrisons(chap I asked said I was the fifth person to ask him) and none in Wilkos either.

I know it's Good Friday and all,but I often don't buy them till now. Is there some Delia Smith recipe-induced style rush on them this year, or what's going on?

plenty in tescos...

Sparklingbrook · 19/04/2019 20:53

I think the days when shops have loads of Easter Eggs left even a day or two before Easter and then loads left after Easter are gone.

Lyricallie · 19/04/2019 20:55

We bought two bags today. Big giant Tesco. No cream eggs though - fiance was distraught.

Stayawayfromitsmouth · 19/04/2019 20:57

They've had tons of easter stuff in sainsburys and teach near me from Christmas until about mothering Sunday. Since then the stocks are massively limited. It's bizarre.

Stayawayfromitsmouth · 19/04/2019 20:57

*tesco

Wellandtrulyoutnumbered · 19/04/2019 20:58

Happens every single year!!!

clary · 19/04/2019 20:59

ok may look tomorrow in local tiny Tesco. I really don't recall this happening before but maybe I am normally more organised 😀

Two different Asda stores I’ve been in today and a few days ago had absolutely loads! 2 for £1.50.

TheGoogleMum · 19/04/2019 20:59

I couldn't see any in Morrison's earlier either:( had a few cream eggs left though

ShabbyAbby · 19/04/2019 21:02

I've seen them in all the major supermarkets in the past few days. Must be a local issue to you?!

greyspottedgoose · 19/04/2019 21:02

We have spares.... dc have been given a bag each that they aren't allowed, mini eggs are the same size and shape as grapes but not as easy to chop in half so I'm terrified of them! Obviously love that I get to eat them all though, yum yum

Vinorosso74 · 19/04/2019 21:05

We got some in a big Sainsbury's today. Our local Morrisons was all out yesterday.

bellabasset · 19/04/2019 21:17

If you want them for cooking try the loose sweets section

justasking111 · 19/04/2019 21:17

Loads in the Co-op today.

Kitsandkids · 19/04/2019 21:18

Local newsagents quite often have them. Or do in my town anyway.

flameycakes · 19/04/2019 21:27

I've just been a lazy trollop and bought a Cadburys mini egg cake from Iceland x

Stickerrocks · 19/04/2019 21:27

Can't you just ask everyone on MN who thinks that chocolate at Easter is the equivalent of crack cocaine to donate the piles of mini eggs their DC will undoubtedly be given by wicked family members straight over to you? (I do love those threads every Easter Sunday).

Punxsutawney · 19/04/2019 21:42

Maybe should have stocked up with them on Boxing Day the supermarkets seem to be full of them then!

MrsLJ2014 · 20/04/2019 14:37

Asda do their own brand of teeny tiny eggs and B&M had tiny ones too, if they have any left.
